About Program

Logistics Management (MBA) Program includes many courses with case studies and scientific theories about Logistics Management. When it is considered as logistical services, it’s important to hold a specific set of skills in order to keep the supply chain moving. Naturally, coursework related to receiving this type of MBA should include definite introductory topics that can be applied to logistics as a whole.

These topics include maintaining inventory, process analysis, distribution procedures, and project management. Without skilled logistic specialists in place, a company may experience everything from loss of revenue to damage of important alliances and partnerships. For this reason, specialists are in demand in practically every industry, including businesses all over the world.

Objectives

The aim of the Logistics Management (MBA) is to integrate and develop students’ existing skillsto prepare them for senior management in the global business environment. The program alsoaims to provide a recognized qualification through a challenging and engaging academic processencouraging the analysis and application of key management theories in the practical arena ofglobal industry.

The total credits required for the satisfactory completion of the curriculum are 30 credits. The program additionally requires a graduation project to be successful completed.

Course Descriptions

E-LOJ511 Lojistik Yönetimi (Logistics Management ) (3 credits) The aim of this course is to provide the ability of searching and managing the operations of logistics firms. The context of this course is formed by the topics that include the required skills (systematic point of view) for senior and junior managers. (This course is given in Turkish)

E-LOJ517 TZY Planlama ve Modelleme (SCM Planning and Modelling) (3 credits) Presenting the basic functions of logistics process by analyzing and hence enabling the performing of logistics activities with overall supply system in a harmonic and integrated way is all subject of this course. Furthermore, there is one more target for students who will work in logistics areas in future in related with acquiring of some capabilities in a practice level of planning, modeling, performing and controlling. Lecture topics have been formed for individuals who have need of obtaining the capabilities of planning, modeling and controlling. (This course is given in Turkish)

E-LOJ521 Tedarik Zinciri Yönetimi (Supply Chain Management ) (3 credits) The aim of this course is to meet students with important principles that form basics of supply chain management. Beside basic approaches theoretical informations, it is purposed to form an atmosphere that is going to be discussed the experience of businesses. (This course is given in Turkish)

E-LOJ533 Taşımacılık Yönetimi (Transportation Management) (3 credits) The purpose of this course is firstly introduce the technical, economic and environmental properties of transportation which is fundamental of logistics process. Secondly, to state the transportation's relationship with storage, packaging and stock management and the situation in logistics. Finally to teach the importance of qualified, cheap and coherent transportation organization and management. (This course is given in Turkish)

E-LOJ537 Depo ve Dağıtım Merkezi Yönetimi (Warehouse and Distribution Center Management) (3 credits) The purpose of this course is to explain, storage function, the basic functions of logistics management, with administrative details. Students will learn warehousing activities separately. This course includes the concepts of storage, storage activities such as receiving, stocking, material handling, packing and labeling, the selection of warehouse location, handling equipments and types of storage systems and selection criteria of storage systems. E-LOJ539 Üretim ve Stok Yönetimi (Production and Inventory Management) (3 credits) The aim of this course is to teach the topics that include different production systems, product quality, planning and productivity etc. Through this purpose, the course gives information about practice of traditional inventory modelling. It explains the factors about when and how to order and how can differentiate the stock objectives among product range. Students are going to search the activities that form stock cost, effective resource utilization, techniques of stock evaluation, economic order quantity and safety stock calculations. In addition, it is expected to increase communication skills of students via a term project prepared orally. (This course is given in Turkish)

ELECTIVES

E-LOJ541 Lojistik ve Tedarik Zincirinde Güncel Konular (Recent Issues in Logistics and Supply Chain) (3 credits) The purpose of this course to understand recent issues in logistics. The course will be about to understand the link between technology and logistical capabilities in a firmor in the

entiresupplychain. The function of logistics planning and modeling is to design and manage the

processes, assets, and flows of material and information required to satisfy customers’ demands. Through chapters, problem discussions and case analyses, we will discuss firstly recent issues in logistics and then logistics planning issues related to logistics systems, international logistics networks, ware housing problems, transporting issues. Duringthelectures, students will be discussing recent issues in logistics systems and will be obligated to present their solutions. (This course is given in Turkish)

E-LOJ523 Lojistik Bilişim Sistemleri (Logistics Information Systems) (3 credits) The purpose of this course is to study the theories and practices of information systems. Students will analyze the essential characteristics of organizationalrules, business processes, and logistics related information systems and technologies. (This course is given in Turkish)

E-MBA522 İstatistiksel Analiz ve Karar Verme (Statistical Analysis &Decision Making) (3 credits) The purpose of this course is to know the general aspects of quantitative analysis In this course, research methods, The quantitative analysis approach, regression models, forecasting, linear programming, goal programming, decision analysis, game theory will be explained in details. E-MBA504 İşletme Ekonomisi (Business Economics) (3 credits) The purpose of this course is to cover the micro aspects of the economic analysis from the perspective of the business units. The individual consumer behavior and the firm specific decision making processes are going to be discussed by focusing on the market structure that these two sides integrate in.
