48. el-Farazdaq’ın yeğeni için ağıtı: Analitik ve biçimsel bir çalışma Öz

Bu makale, el-Farazdaq’ın yeğeni Muhammed’e yakındığı şiirine yönelik analitik ve üslupla ilgili bir incelemeyi ele almaktadır. el-Farazdaq çok sert biri olarak biliniyordu ve aynı zamanda Carîr ile şiirsel tartışmalarıyla ünlüydü. Dolayısıyla bu ağıt, edebi eserleri içerisinde bir mihenk taşıdır.

Ayrıca bu makale, bu şiirin tematik içerik incelemeyi ve bu içeriklere dil modelini temsil eden en belirgin üslup tekniklerini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu nedenle bu çalışma, içerik analizi yöntemine ve stilistik yönteme dayanmaktadır. Bu makale iki ana bölüme ayrılmaktadır: Birincisi, şiirin içerik çeşitliliğine göre birkaç bölüme ayrıldığı içerik analizi, ikincisi ise üslup analizi olup o da iki bölüme ayrılmaktadır: Dilsel üslup analizi ve makalenin birçok biçimsel özelliği bulduğu fonetik üslup yönetm. Dilsel üslup analizi, diksiyon ve şiirsel akışın düzgünlüğü gibi birçok yönü ve buna ek olarak fikirlerin, kelimelerin ve sözün tekrarını kapsamaktadır. Fonetik üslup analizine gelince, o şiiri müzikal açıdan ele alıp ölçü, kafiye ve ritim bakımdan incelemiştir. Bu inceleme, şiirsel içeriğin genellikle merhumun erdemlerini kutlayan ve ölümünün üzüntü ve acısını dile getiren standart ağıt şiirlerinin ortak çerçevesinin dışına çıkmadığı sonucuna ulaşmıştır. Şiirin üslup düzeyi ise bu sanatsal üslupların ilham verdiği kapalı anlamların yanı sıra şiirsel çağrışımları göstermede varyant üslup teknikleri ile önemli rol oynamıştır. Aynı şekilde bu inceleme, el- Farazdaq’ın bu şiir türünde üstün olduğunu ve bu konuda şiir yazmayı azaltmasının teknik meselelerle veya şiirsel bir zayıflıkla ilgisinin olmadığı sonucuna varmıştır. Bu çalışma, şairlerde

Al-Farazdaq’s eulogy for his nephew: An analytic and a stylistic study Abstract

This paper tackles an analytical and a stylistic study to al-Farazdaq’s poem when he lamented his nephew Mohammed. al-Farazdaq was known for being a very tough person and he, also, was famous for his poetic dispute with Jareer. Hence, this poem was a prominent benchmark in his literary works. Moreover, this paper aims to study the subjective content of this poem and to uncover the most noticeable stylistic techniques that represent the lingual model to these contents.

Therefore, this paper is based on the content analytical approach and the stylistic approach. This paper consists of two main sections: first, the content approach in which the poem was divided into several parts according to their content diversity. Second, the analytical approach and also it is divided into two sections: the lingual stylistic approach and the phonetic stylistic approach in which the paper found out many stylistic features. The stylistic analysis covers many aspects such as the diction and the smoothness of the poetic flow. In addition, the study covers the repetition of ideas, words and wordiness. As for the phonetic stylistic approach, it tackled the poem from a musical point view and examined the meter, rhythm and rhyme. The study found out that the poetic content didn’t extend outside the common frame of the standard eulogy poems that usually celebrate the deceased’s virtues and mourn his/her death. As for the stylistic level of the poem, the variant stylistic techniques play a major role in showing the poetic connotations in addition to the underlined themes. Similarly, the paper revealed that al-Farazdaq was superior in this genre of poetry and he is being concise in his poetry has nothing to do with stylistic issues or a poetic weakness. This study recommends performing more studies and papers on the poems that was written about rare topics that were rarely tackled by their poets to highlight this unique phenomenon of these poets.

Summary

Al-Farazdaq (641-732) whose real name is: Hammâm ibn Ṣaʿṣaʿah ad-Dârimiy at-Tamîmiy. He was famous for his pride, satire and praise poetry. Also, he was known for his poetic dispute with Jareer (653-728) who was famous for combination of pride and satire poetry. He wrote very little outside these poetic genres especially in eulogy to the extent that when his wife died, she was lamented by Jareer’s poetry. However, al-Farazdaq has lamented his nephew who died in Jericho.

The Importance of the Poem: this poem was distinctive and broke the common frame of al-Farazdaq’s poetry that made the scholar to study it and to analyze its stylistics and content. This eulogy poem was very rare to al-Farazdaq since he rarely wrote Eulogy. Thus, this paper unravels al-Farazdaq great poetic potential in this genre.

The Questions of the study

1, What are the poetic content that was tackled in al-Farazdaq eulogy poem for his nephew?

The Approach of the study

This paper is based on the content analytical approach and the stylistic approach. This paper consists of two main sections: first, the content approach in which the poem was divided into several parts according to their content diversity. Second, the analytical approach and also it is divided into two sections: the lingual stylistic approach and the phonetic stylistic approach in which the paper found out many stylistic features. The stylistic analysis covers many aspects such as the diction and the smoothness of the poetic flow. In addition, the study covers the repetition of ideas and words and wordiness. As for the phonetic stylistic approach, it tackled the poem from a musical point of view and examined the meter, rhythm and rhyme.

The results of the study

The paper found out that Al Farzdaq’s eulogy poem for his nephew has stylistically followed the main frame of eulogy poems such as lamenting and praising the deceased in addition to depicting the poet status and what becomes of him as a result of the death of the deceased.

As for the lingual stylistic level, the poet followed the common traditional diction and varied between smoothness and eloquence. Furthermore, repetition is remarkable and evident feature in displaying the lamenting, mourning and praising the deceased. Wordiness, also, is a very obvious poetic characteristic throughout the poem. The feeling of sadness wasn’t very dominant at the beginning of the calamity, yet it gave way to the poem to be vividly expressive and depictive.

As for the phonetic stylistic level, the paper investigated the poem from a musical point of view. The paper has found out that the poem was written in the “long meter” which has many syllables.

According to the scholar, that was a result of the long period between writing the poem and the death occurrence. As for the internal rhythm, it covered the formative sounds of the poem and the rhymes.

The paper has, also, found out that this poem consists of \æ\, \m\ and \h\. It was noticeable that this rhyme consists of two long vowels. The huge presence of the vowels voiced, and nasals sounds reflects the apparent and prevailing mourning and lamenting throughout the poem that are the central feelings in this genre of poetry which is Eulogy.

The paper has found out that al-Farazdaq was good at this genre of poetry although he didn’t write much in this genre. In other words, his minimum and little literary legacy of eulogy is not as a result of being inadequate or weak at writing Eulogy.

This paper recommends writing more studies and papers on the poems that was written about rare topics that were rarely tackled by their poets to highlight this unique phenomenon of these poets.
