Ali Malek

Ali Malek was born in Karaagac village of Paphos in Cyprus on 11 July 1954. His

father was working in Limni Copper Mine as a worker. Her mother was a houswife.

He completed his primary education in Karaagac village, went to Poli Hürriyet secondary school and graduated from science branch of Baf Kurtuluş High school.

He went to Middle East Technical University for his university education and graduated in 1978. His award is Industrial Engineering. After completing his university education, he returned to Cyprus and joined the compulsory army service for two years as a third lieutenant. When the army service was completed in february 1980, he started his proffesional carrier as Industrial Engineer in Ministry of Economy and Finance in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

In 1984, he awarded by Full Bright Board and went to Bradford University in United Kingdom. He successfully completed a postgraduate education program whose award is “Project Planning and Appraisals” which is held for 4 months.

Ali Malek was promoted in 1994 and became Branch Manager of T.R.N.C.

Industry Department. After a year, he promoted again as being president of Economic Planing Department (D.P.Ö.). While he was working, he also started postgraduate course and completed Master of Business Administration (MBA) postgraduate degree with high honour.

Untill retirement from Public sector duties, he participated many national and international conferences and symposiums as a representative member of T.R.N.C.

In 1999, fiscal structure of Everst Bank was weakened. Ali Malek was assigned to head of General Management of the bank in respect of possibilty for bankruptcy and carried duty activities in General Management position untill his retirement. He retired from public sector in 2000.

Since 1997, he was a part time tutor in faculty of Economy and Business Administration of Near East University. After his retirement from public sector, he continued his academic carrier on full time basis.

Ali Malek was assigned to Cooperative Central Bank as member of board of

Director. He performed his duty between early 2006 and september 2008.

In september 2008, He was assigned to Near East Bank Ltd. as member of board

of Director. He is currently a board member and head of Internal Systems in Near

East bank Ltd. Ali Malek is married and has got three children.
