Finalmente, cabe observar que uma das maiores limitações desta tese foi a relativa falta de controle sobre a coleta de dados. Embora tenha sido solicitado aos respondentes simularem uma compra na loja eletrônica sendo avaliada para que eles pudessem experimentar o Website e assim terem condições de avaliarem as suas características funcionais, da forma como os dados foram coletados, o controle sobre os respondentes não foi possível.
Como conseqüência deste fato, houve um número relativamente alto de respostas em branco para o primeiro experimento (44 respondentes, 14,5% da amostra total, não completaram a avaliação do varejista eletrônico). Embora não tenha sido exercido nenhum tipo de controle sobre a atividade de consulta ao Website a ser avaliado, o alto número de respostas em branco para a atividade de avaliação dos atributos funcionais sugere que os respondentes que não se sentiram estimulados a entrar no Website decidiram não responder às perguntas, enquanto que aqueles que responderam o questionário efetivamente se expuseram ao Website avaliado.
Além disso, o alto número de respostas em branco pode sugerir a ocorrência de um viés de não resposta. Este fato é limitante principalmente quando se considera que todas as técnicas estatísticas utilizadas na análise dos dados supõe que as amostras sejam aleatórias.
Portanto, estudos futuros devem considerar a realização de experimentos nos quais se tenha mais controle sobre a realização das tarefas pelos respondentes.
