1.1 OBJECTIVES:

This study and analysis has conducted during the pandemic for the following reasons. (1) To evaluate the impacts of covid-19 lockdown among the college students;

(2) To analysis the factors that covid-19 Awareness impact, Daily time spent impact, Learning impact and Stress impact with college students.

1.2 HYPOTHESIS FRAMED: The Null Hypothesis for the study is:

• There is no association between Monthly Parents income and Time spend with Social Media of college students attitude in Chennai.

• There is no association between Time spend with social Media and Awareness about Covid-19 among college students.

• There is no association between time spend with social Media and Daily time spent impact college students.

• There is no association between Time spend with social Media and Learning impact college students. • There is no association between Time spend with social Media and Stress impact college students. 2. METHODOLOGY

2.1 DATA COLLECTION:

This article is based on both primary and secondary data. The primary data were collected from the Students of Arts and Science College with a prepared questionnaire. The secondary data were used from different journals, articles and websites.

2.2 CONSTRUCTION OF QUESTIONNAIRE:

The respondents were assessed through structured questionnaire package that inquired information including Gender, Age, Education level, Source of Parental Income, daily time spending with social media and impact of these students during the COVID-19 outbreak. To assess the impact of covid-19 among college students Likert’s five point scale is developed with scales ranging as “Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree and Strongly Disagree,”. In order to assemble the data regarding impact of covid1-19 parameter were Awareness impact of covid-19, Daily time spent impact, Learning impact, and Stress impact for the research.

2. 3 SAMPLE VOLUME:

Convenient Sampling method is used in the study for choosing the samples and the sample size for the study was fifty.

2.4 STRUCTURE OF ANALYSIS:

With a view of observing the data, percentage analysis and Pearson’s chi-square tools are used for test. A master table was shaped for interpret input; the reply of each respondent and small cross tables was prepared from the master table for the study.

2.5 LIMITATIONS:

1. The selected sample size for the study is modest compared with the total population. 2. This survey conducted with only Arts and Science College students.

3. ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

3.1 PERCENTAGE ANALYSIS OF SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES:

The demographic variables of the respondents’ Viz., Gender, Age, Education level, Source of Parental Income, Daily time spending with social media have been taken for analysis and simple average method has been adopted. From the table 1,

From the table 1, it has inferred that there is logically good majority of respondent between the age group of 18-21 (70%) and above below 18 (16%) years of age. 3.2 CHI–SQUARE TEST RESULTS – MONTHLY INCOME OF PARENTS AND TIME SPEND

WITH SOCIAL MEDIA OF COLLEGE STUDENTS ATTITUDE IN CHENNAI

In this part daily time spending of students with social media are made to ascertain the significant relationship between the time spending with family members of colleges students in Chennai.

Time spends in social media of the college students, taken for the study and time spending with family members of college students in Chennai. The hypothesis framed to find the relationship is “There is no association between the times spends with social media and time spends with family members of college students in Chennai.” Chi-square test is used to discover the relationship of Time Spending in social media with daily time spent with family members of college students. The consolidated result of the chi- square test is shown in Table-2.

Table-2

Table 2 shows that the calculated values (24.989) is greater than the table value (16.919) at 5% level of significance with monthly parents income with time spending in social media. Hence, the null hypothesis is significantly related to monthly parents’ income with time spending in social media of college students. 3.3 RELATING TIME SPENDS WITH SOCIAL MEDIA AND COVID – 19 FACTORS INFULENCING THE COLLEGE STUDENTS.

The hypothesis framed to find the relationship is “There is no significant relationship between Time spent with social media and Covid – 19 influencing factors viz., (Covid-19 Awareness Impact, Daily Time Spent Impact, Learning impact, and Stress impact.). Impact of epidemic covid-19 influenced by college students’ divided into four factors”. Chi-square test is used to identify the relationship of impact of covid-19 among college students. The consolidated result of the chi- square test is shown in Table-3.

The results of the relationship between “Time spent with social media and Covid – 19 influencing factors.” are presented in the table 3 that reveals the rejection of the hypothesis “H 0: There is no

significant association between “Time spent with social media and Covid – 19 influencing factors” except Learning Impact.

On the differing, the calculated value of Covid-19 influencing factors “Covid-19 Awareness, Daily Time spend Impact and Stress Impact” is higher than the table value at 5% level of significance. Hence the null hypothesis is accepted and concluded that the time spend with social media significantly related to the Covid-19 affecting the college students during pandemic lockdown.

4. CONCLUSION

The study assessed that covid-19 epidemic influenced the college students daily routine life during the lockdown highly. The analysis part of the study revealed the students have to engage themselves to develop their carrier during lockdown with help of online classes. However, having a relative or an acquaintance infected with COVID-19 was an independent risk factor for experienced stress. They can attend the online classes at their convenient time to reduce their stress. Covid-19 Awareness Impact, Daily Time Spent Impact, and Stress impact are significantly influence the college students’ day-to-day life and higher education cycle process. Except in case of learning Impact where it is insignificant.

The COVID-19- related impact that included economic stressors, on daily-life, and academic delays were positively associated with the level of anxious college students during the epidemic, when education system is facing issues with public health, and they require attention, help and support of the society, family members, and education institution to solve students stress worries. It has recommended that the government and education institutions should work together to crack the big question before the students concerning teaching and learning difficulty due lockdown delay. Covid-19 Pandemic has transforming and changes to Indian education scheme, “Most important footstep has to be taken by college to continue education: by shifting classrooms to computers.”
