Reductil 是正腎上腺素與血清素再吸收的抑制劑，能同時增加飽足感與增加產熱作用雙重機制來 減輕體重。
Reductil 適應症為:BMI≧30kg/㎡或 BMI≧27kg/㎡( BMI 為身體質量指數等於體重除以身高 kg/㎡) 且有危險因子存在(例如糖尿病，高血脂症)之肥胖者，並應搭配低卡路里的飲食。建議劑量為每 日 10mg，空腹或隨餐服用皆可，時間為早上較佳。
常見副作用為口乾、厭食、便秘與失眠。有些服用者會出現血壓與心跳速率上升之現象，所以有 冠狀動脈疾病、心臟衰竭、心律不整或中風病史的人，不建議使用。仍有生育能力的婦女接受 Reductil 治療時，應採用適當的避孕方法。不建議使用於授乳的婦女。
