The new service building of Türkiye Sınaî Kalkınma Bankası A.Ş. (Industria) Development Bank of Turkey) has been constructed on a plot of 2400 m2 on the Meclisi Mebusan Avenue between Kaba-taş and Fındıklı, İSTANBUL.
The building is composed of a double basement, a ground flodr with garage, four normal floors and a studio floor con-taining the kitchen and the cafeteria. The front of the building is exposed to excessive sunshine. In order ta eliminate this, the outside of the building has been construc-ted with horizontal projections stepped up every floor and îying in the direction of the Bosphorus to increase the horizontal effect and looking onto the main avenue and the side road.
With the horizontal cassets and mo-dules and the vertical alııminum cons-truction materials repeated on the axes. the sunshine particularly from the western direction has been prevented. The window frames are of aluminum and the windows are the transom type that can be opened for cleaning. The outside surface of the building is coıvered with dark green diabase marble and smoke-gray aluminum sheets. The ground floor is paved with salicaceae-beige marble and the other floors are co-vered with wall-to-wall carpeting. The partition panels are veneered with teak with vertical modular spacings över man-nesmann frame construction. Ali the cei-lings are false ceicei-lings of perforated alu-mir.um. Betvveen the concrete ceiling base
and the false ceiling there is a space of 20 cm. through wich the air conditicining connections of the building pass. By using glass wool in the false ceiling> carpeting on the floor and with the measures taken in the partition panel construction, the acoustics problems have beea solved.
The internal lighting of the building has been provided by using Iamps in baııds on the ceiling parallel to the front of the building.
The building is of framed reiııforced concrete and the floor concrete bases are 23 cm. without beams. A retaining wall which is 9.5 meters high has been cons-tructed on four rows of concerete columns behind the building and the top of each
layer has been decorated vvith plants. The basement which is below sea level and has the air conditioning plant is within the reinforced concrete retaining wall and has double layer insulation. The heating and the air conditioning projects have been re-alized by Selnikel A.Ş. and the firm Sul-zer has acted as a consultant.
The air conditioning system of the building is based on pressurized air and will provide cooling during the summer and heating during the winter as well as the necessary ventilation in the offices. The climatized air is blown through the perforated ceiling and recirculated in the corridor ceilings, A special air conditio-ning ıınit manııfactured by Selnikel with
90.000 m3/hour air yield and 212 mm. static pressure has been used for the offices The air conditioning system is adjusted automatically by the electro - pneumatic control system.
The main constructor for the cons-truction of the building is A E A înşaat Kollektif Şirketi. The a,ir conditioning system and the sanitary ınstallations have been installed by Selnikel Tsıtma ve Klima Cihazları Sanayii A.Ş., the woodwork has been prepared by Ağaç ve Metal İşleri Ol-gunlaşma Enstitüsü and Efes Mobilyacılık Firması. The aluminum work and elev?.-tors have been undertaken by the firm TÜRKELÎ. the electric installations by the firm ETA.
