The radionuclides and heavy metal concentrations in air are critical factors to assess the environmental quality and the impact o f a possible pollutant. Air is the main pathway for human exposure due to the pollutant. Air monitoring is one o f the most important parts o f environmental monitoring for protection against ionizing radiation. Air monitoring studies have been carrying out for radiation protection in our Center since 1970. This year air monitoring equipments were renewed and naturally occurring and manmade radio nuclides and heavy metals were started to determine on a routine basis. Wet and dry deposition fluxes o f anthropogenic and natural components o f the aerosol and precipitation in the air were also collected and evaluated. The measurements are perform ed by gross alpha/beta counting, gamma spectroscopic analysis, XRF, AAS and Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA). The data was collected and a database was formed.
