Background:
Ergin Akalpler is an economist advisor and a university lecturer. He completed his
undergraduate education in Economics department in Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty in Turkey. In 1989 via European Council Scholarship programme he attended to the Vienna University of Economics for his master in Institute for Foreign Economics and Politics. After completion of master education he attended to PhD programme at the same university. He completed his education in institute for European Research and International Economics in the Vienna University of Economics and became doctor for Economics and Social Sciences.
During and after his education he taught as a lecturer and head of department at different universities in TRNC (EMU, CIU and GAU) and Verband Wiener Volksbildung, High Schools (Volkshochschulen Simmering, and VHS Land Strasse) in Vienna.
He prepared several projects and attends many conferences and congress worldwide. He published several articles and books.
In 2004, he has been employed as an Education Advisor in the Ministry of Education and in Higher Education Council in TRNC for implementation of the EU’ Socrates- Erasmus- Life Long Learning Education programmes, ENQA, Erasmus University Charter, European University Association, Naric and others. He managed the Scholarship programme for third countries students.
In 2010, he has been employed as an Advisor for the TRNC President in Economic Matters, and an Acting Member of the Economic and Technical Committee for United Nation
Development Program (UNDP).
He knows English and German languages.
He is married and has three children.
