Amacı / Purpose Bu dersin amacı, Amerikan şiirinin neo-klasik dönemden modern döneme uzanan bir yelpaze içinde şiir inceleme tekniklerinin ve söz sanatlarının kullanılarak, tartışılmasıdır.

Öğrencilerin, dönem içinde ele alınacak olan Amerikan şairlerini ve onların etkilenmiş oldukları edebi hareketleri kavrayarak, şiirlere daha derin bir bakış açısıyla yaklaşmaları beklenmektedir.

This course is designed to teach the students the works of noteworthy American poets starting from the neo-classical age to modern time. By analyzing a selection of different poems, the students will be practicing the technical methods they have learnt in the previous poetry course. The course aims at concentrating not only on the poems but also on the literary movements such as the 18th century Neo-Classicism, 19th century
