TECHNIQUES FOR ANALYSIS OF AIR FILTER SAMPLES IN GAMMA
SPECTROMETRY

Gamma spectrometric analysis o f air filters with HPGe detector is widely used for monitoring and quantification o f radionuclides in air. Efficiency calibration of the gamma spectrometry system, which is used for the activity calculation of the existing radionuclides on the air filter, can be performed by different methods. The total efficiency values obtained for the analysis of an air filter for the same geometry conditions with different techniques, such as relative measurement, direct efficiency calculation and efficiency transfer are compared and discussed in this work. Direct calculation and efficiency transfer methods are performed by the Monte Carlo code, MCNPX. The
