SUMMARY
A COMPARATIVE RESEARCH ON MUSICAL TASTES OF THE STUDENTS AT THE SECOND STAGE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION IN THE PROVINCE OF
KONYA
Music education is a process that has important impacts on both the development of society and individual. This process is a period that will also be effective on the development of individual’s musical taste. Musical taste can become different based on various variables as well as education. One of the stated variables can be Grade Point Average for High School (GPA).
In this descriptive study based on literature review, a research is conducted for the students who study in high schools that have high GPA, medium GPA and low GPA, in Konya Province, to test the hypothesis before mentioned and to create data related to the subject. In the study, by comparing the students’ musical tastes, it is aimed to make an observation about the subject, to determine the situation related to the subject of the research and then to make necessary suggestions.
