COVID- 19 VE YENİDOĞAN SAĞLIĞI

3. Sonuç ve Öneriler

COVID-19 pandemisi tüm popülasyonda olduğu gibi yenidoğanlar için de tehlike oluşturmaktadır. Yetişkinlerle karşılaştırıldığında çocuklarda bulgular daha hafif seyretse de yenidoğanlar olgunlaşmamış bağışıklık fonksiyonları, dikey ve yatay bulaş olasılığı nedeniyle hassas bir grupta yer almaktadır. Genellikle COVID-19 ile enfekte gebeden doğan yenidoğanlarda erken dönemde yapılan RT-PCR pozitifliğin dikey bulaş olasılığını desteklediği ancak daha geç pozitifliğin yatay geçiş ile ilişkilendirilebileceği düşünülmektedir. Bu nedenle COVID-19 pandemisinde doğum ve doğum sonrası dönemlerde gerekli tedbirler alınmalı, yenidoğanlar COVID-19 enfeksiyonu klinik bulguları açısından değerlendirilmeli ve pozitiflik tespit edilen yenidoğanların gerekli takip, tedavi ve bakımı yapılmalıdır.
