Sanat, insanın, toplumun yaşanmışlığını, değerlerini, kültürünü, kimliğini, yaşam şekillerini, duygularını anlatan en güçlü disiplindir. Yüzyıllardır insanın tabiatla mücadelesine en yakın tanıklığı sanat yapmıştır. Bu süreçte insan, düşünen, araştıran ve sorgulayan tarafları ile var olmuş ve sanatı yaşamın her alanına yansıtmaya başlamıştır. İnsan, yaşamı anlamlı kılmayı sanattan öğrenmiştir.
Sanat eğitimi, eğitimin içinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bireyi bütün yönleri ile ele alan, yaşamı güzel algılamasını sağlayan ve estetik duyarlılığını arttıran, entelektüel donanım sağlayan bir yaklaşımı benimser. Bu yaklaşım, eğitim sürecinde tarihten, kültürden, bilimden beslenir ve destekleyici öğrenme alanlarına ihtiyaç duyar. Sanat eğitimi, insanlarda duyarlılık sınırlarını zorlar, o sınırların daha d genişlemesini mümkün kılar. Bu yolla insan kendini bir kez de bu yönüyle tanıma imkânı bulur ve ‘Kişi’ olma, olabilme yolunda daha bilinçli ilerler.
Sanat eğitimi yalnızca yetenekliler için bir “lüks” değildir. Herkes için gerekli olan bir kişilik eğitimidir. Sanat eğitiminden amaçlanan, sanatçı yetiştirmeye yönelik eğitim değil, bireyin sanat yoluyla eğitiminden ziyade, bireyin sanat yoluyla eğitimi, yani estetik eğitimidir. Her insan üretici güçlerle donanmış olarak dünyaya gelir. Bu güçler, insanın kendisini, içinde yaşadığı tabiî ve kültürel çevreyi, kısaca yaşamı tanımaya yöneliktir. Ancak, sanat eğitimi, düşünüldüğü gibi soyut anlamda salt bir duygu eğitimi ya da estetik eğitimi değil, aynı zamanda zihinsel düşünce süreçlerinin zenginleştirilmesidir. Nitekim sanat eğitimi özellikle ruhsal ve etik bir eğitimdir.
Birey olabilmeyi, özünü bulabilmeyi, millîden evrensele yükselebilmeyi etkin kılan sanat eğitiminin, en önemli araştırma ve uygulama alanlarının başında Üniversitelerde sanat eğitimi veren birimler gelmektedir.
23 fakülte, 1 yüksekokul, 1 konservatuvar, 12 meslek yüksekokulu, 8 enstitü, 25 araştırma merkezi ile 280 bini aşkın öğrencisi, 2 bin 600 öğretim elemanı ve 3 bin 500 idari personeliyle ülkemizin 6. Büyük üniversitesi olan Atatürk Üniversitesi çatısı altında 25 yıldır Türk Yükseköğretimine hizmet veren Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, yetkin kadrosu ve fizikî imkânlarıyla etkili bir sanat eğitimi vermekte, yeni yaklaşımları, güncel olayları takip ederek gerekli programları geliştirmek suretiyle topluma ışık tutmaktadır.
Bu bağlamda Güzel Sanatlar Fakültemizin başarılı çalışmalarını önemsiyor, destekliyorum. Yetenek sınavlarına girerek Üniversitemizde öğrenim almayı hedefleyen öğrencilerimiz! Art is the most powerful discipline which describes the life experience of society, its values, culture, identity, modes of living and feelings. For many centuries, art is the one which has been witnessing the struggle of human with nature. In this process, human existed with its thinking, searching and questioning sides and achieved to reflect art to every field of life. Human learned the make life meaningful by the help of art.
Art education has an important place in education. It interiorizes the behavior of considering individual in every way, ensuring the perfect comprehension of life and providing intellectual hardware. This approach is fed on history, culture and science during the education thus it is in need of supportive learning fields. Art education compels the sensation limits in humans and makes these limits possible to expand. By this way, human once more has a chance to recognize itself from this aspect and continues to be or try to be an “individual” more consciously.
Art education isn’t just a luxury for gifted people. It is a necessary personality education for everyone. The actual aim of art education is the education of an individual through arts meaning aesthetics education rather than education devoted to grow artists.
Every person come into the world equipped with producer powers. These powers are for humans to recognize themselves, the natural and cultural environment that they are living on and shortly for knowing the life. However, not only is art education just a pure sensation education or aesthetics education just like everyone thinks in abstract manner but also it is the enrichment of cognitive thinking processes. As a matter of fact, art education is especially a spiritual and ethic education.
Departments giving art education in Universities is the leading top research and application fields which activate the being of an individual, finding its grace and rising from nation to global.
Fine Arts Faculty which has been giving its service to Turkish High Education for 25 years under the roof of Ataturk University that contain 23 faculties, 1 high school, 1 conservatory, 12 vocational schools, 8 institutions, 25 research centers and students with a number of 280 000 and above, 2600 academicians, 3500 administrative staff in itself gives an effective art education with its competent staff and physical sources. In addition to that it enlightens the society by pursuing new approaches and current events by means of developing necessary programs.
In this context, I have a high opinion of successful studies of our own Fine Arts Faculty and support them. 1992 yılında kurulan ve akademik ve sanatsal faaliyetlerinde 27 yılını emek, özveri ve büyük başarılarla tamamlamış olan Atatürk Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, bu zaman zarfı içerisinde gerek eğitim kadrosu gerek fiziki olanaklar açısından kurumsal bir kimlik edinmiştir.
Öğrencilerine yaşam boyu öğrenmenin kapılarını açacak bir donamınla yaklaşan fakültemiz, insanlık mirasına ve değerlerine sahip çıkan, yaşadığı kente, ülkeye ve dünyaya duyarlı, sorumluluk sahibi, özgüvenli, yaratıcı ve yenilikçi bireyler yetiştirmeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu doğrultuda şekillendirilen eğitim programları ve olanakları, sanatsal uygulama ve sanat teorisi alanlarında çift yönlü bir eğitim odağına sahiptir.
Her geçen gün hedefleri doğrultusunda büyüyen ve gelişen fakültemiz, mevcut durumda 850 öğrenci ve 82 kişilik hoca kadrosuna sahip bir fakülte olarak ülkemizin kapsamlı sanat eğitimi veren kurumları arasında yerini almıştır.
Fakültemiz, görsel dil yaratma, grafik tasarımı, üç boyutlu anıtsal tasarım, iç mekan dış mekan tasarımı, basın yayın grafiği, illüstrasyon, animasyon, fotoğraf, tezhip tasarımı/sanatı, minyatür, kitap sanatları, iç mimari ve restorasyon, eski Türkçe, hat sanatı, heykel sanatı, performans sanatı, enstalasyon, takı tasarımı, temel mimari, sanat eseri analizi, müzik bilimi, müzik teknolojileri, ses ve saz sanatçılığı, resim, baskı resim, sahne sanatları, oyunculuk, oyun yazarlığı, dramaturgi, tiyatro eleştirmenliği, sahne tasarımı, set tasarımı, ışık tasarımı, senaryo yazımı, yönetmenlik, seramik, çinicilik, sinema ve TV, fotoğraf, tekstil ve moda tasarımı, dokuma, sanat kuramı eleştirisi, ikonografi, sanat felsefesi gibi pek çok sanatsal ve kuramsal alanda ülkemizin kültür-sanat gelişimine katkı sağlayan, başarılı projelere imza atan, ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde istihdam sağlama olanaklarını elinde bulundurmaktadır.
Fakültemizin lisans eğitimleri olan bölümlerden mezun olan öğrencilerimiz (Yüksek Lisans, Sanatta Yeterlilik/Doktora) eğitimi yapabilmektedir.
2020-2021 Eğitim Öğretim Yılı’nda Türk uyruklu Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi öğrencilerine, YÖK’ün Fakültemize açacağı kontenjanlar doğrultusunda Pedagojik Formasyon eğitimide verilebilmektedir.
Nitelikli ve donanımlı bir eğitim hayatına adım atarak ülkemizin kültür-sanat yaşamına katkı sağlamaya istekli ve bu amaçla çalışma bilincine sahip adayları, yetkin eğitim kadromuz ve güçlü fiziki olanaklarımızla karşılamaktan onur duyarım.

Ataturk University Faculty of Fine Arts, which was founded in 1992 and has accomplished its 25 years of academic and artistic activities with effort, devotion and great success, has gained a corporate identity in terms of both its teaching stuff and physical facilities within this time period.
We aim to educate our students with an equipment that will open the doors of lifelong learning, raise individuals who preserves the heritage and values of humanity, who are liable to the city, country, and world they live in, and responsible, self-confident, creative and innovator. The educational programs and facilities shaped in this direction have a dual focus in the areas of artistic practice and art theory.
Our faculty, as a faculty with 850 students and 82 academic stuff, growing and developing in line with its objectives day by day, currently has become one of the institutions of the country that has comprehensive art education program.
Our faculty contributing to the development of the culture and art of our country in a variety of artistic and hypothetical fields like visual language creation, graphic design, three dimensional monumental design, interior and exterior design, press publication graphic, illustration, animation, photography, illumination design / art, miniature, book arts, interior architecture and restoration, old Turkish, calligraphy, sculpture art, performance art, installation, jewelry design, basic architecture, artwork analysis, music art, music technology, sound and instrumental art, painting, print painting, performing arts, acting, play writing, dramaturgy, theater criticism, scene design, set design, light design, script writing, directing, ceramics, tiling, cinema and TV, textile and fashion design, weaving, art theory criticism, iconography, art philosophy ; signing successful projects, has the possibility of providing employment at national and international level.
Our students who graduated from departments with undergraduate education of our faculty are able to do master’s degree, art proficiency / doctorate education.
In 2020-2021 academic year, Turkish Fine Arts students will be given pedagogical formation training in the direction of the quotas the Council of Higher Education enables.

Ülkemizin ilk altı üniversitesinden biri olan Atatürk Üniversitesi 1957 yılında kurulmuştur. Üniversitemiz, aradan geçen 60 yılda gelişimini büyük ölçüde tamamlayarak Türk yükseköğretimine çok önemli katkılar yapmıştır.
Bünyesinde şu anda 23 fakülte, 1 yüksekokul ve uygulama merkezi, 1 konservatuvar, 12 meslek yüksekokulu, 8 enstitü ve 25 araştırma merkezi bulunan Atatürk Üniversitesi’nde halen 316 profesör, 242 doçent, 573 yardımcı doçent, 98 öğretim görevlisi, 150 okutman, 958 araştırma görevlisi ve 58 uzman olmak üzere toplam 2600 öğretim elemanı görev yapmaktadır.
Dünya standartlarında eğitim-öğretim veren Atatürk Üniversitesinde 2017-2018 öğretim yılı itibariyle 5962 ön lisans, 27582 lisans, 2430 yüksek lisans ve 1388 doktora olmak üzere toplam 40.000 öğrenci öğrenim görmektedir.
Renowned as one of the six oldest universities in Turkiye, Ataturk University was founded in 1957. Throughout the 60 years since its foundation Ataturk University developed into a full scale university and has made very significant contributions to the Turkish higher education.
The university has 23 faculties, 1 colleges, 12 vocational schools, 1 conservatory, 8 institutes and 25 research centers. The academic personnel consists of 2600 people, among whom there are 316 professors, 242 associate professors, 573 assistant professors, 98 teaching and/or research assistants, 150 lecturers, 958 research assistants and 58 academic specialists. In the Ataturk University, which provides education in world- class standards, as of 2017-2018 academic year the total number of the students studying exceeds forty thousand. There are 5962 college students (leading to associate degrees), 25782 undergraduate students, 2430 graduate students and 1388 Phd candidates.

Bilgisayar teknolojisinin sağladığı olanaklardan yararlanmak amacıyla Atatürk Üniversitesi’nin bünyesinde bir Bilgisayar Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi kurulmuştur.
Bu merkezden öğretim elemanları, öğrenciler ve arzu eden herkese bilgisayar eğitim ve öğretimi, bilgisayar ile yayınlar ve danışmanlık hizmetleri verilmektedir.
Bu merkez aracılığı ile üniversitemizde tüm birimlerin yararlandığı bir bilgi işlem ağı oluşturulmuştur.
Üniversitemiz, güçlü bir iletişim altyapısı ve bilgi bankasına sahip olup, akademik elemanlarımıza ve öğrencilerimize günümüzün koşullarına uygun bilişim hizmetleri sunmaktadır.
Öğrencilerimiz tüm işlemlerini internet ortamı üzerinden yapabilmektedir. Öğrencilerimizin harç ve ders kayıt işlemleri de internet üzerinden takip edilmektedir. Merkezi bilgisayar laboratuvarlarının dışında üniversitemizin tüm fakülte ve yüksekokullarında bilgisayar laboratuvarları bulunmaktadır.
In order to utilize the latest computer technology and the resources that accompany this te chnology, Computer Research and Application Center has been es t a blished under the auspices of Ataturk University. At this center, the academic personnel and the students, and people of Erzurum can receive computer training, publications related to computers and computing, and consulting services. Through this center an intra-university information web that is accessed and used by all the university units, has been established and put into use. Our university has a sound communication infrastructure and an advanced data bank that provides our students and academic personnel information services meeting today’s needs.
Our students can finalize all their school-related issues and transactions via internet. Payment of tuition fees and registering for the courses can be followed through online university network. Besides the main computer laboratory, all the faculties and the colleges of the University have computer centers.

Atatürk Üniversitesi Kütüphaneleri Merkez, Fakülte, Yüksekokul ve Bölüm Kütüphanelerinden oluşmaktadır. Kampüste yer alan Merkez Kütüphane, kayıtları, Tarihi kitapları ve Koleksiyonları bakımından ülkemizin en zengin kütüphanelerinden biridir. Paha biçilmez el yazmaları ciltlerinden oluşan nadir eserlere sahip kütüphane, aynı zamanda Ulusal Ekonomik Araştırma Ağı üyesi olarak üniversitenin eğitim ve araştırmasını doğrudan destekler.
Ataturk University Libr a r y System consists of Central Library and Faculty, College and Department libraries. The Central Library, which is located at the Main Campus is one of the richest libraries in Turkiye in terms of its records, historical books and collections. The library holds volumes of priceless manuscripts that are rare collections. Besides its rich capacity the university library is a partner of the National Economic Research Network through which it directly supports the educational and research activities of the university.

Aile ortamı sıcaklığında hizmet veren resmi yurtlar sayesinde Atatürk Üniversitesi öğrencileri, barınma problemi yaşamadan öğrenimlerini sürdürmektedir.
Öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğu Kredi ve Yurtlar Kurumu’na ait yurtlarda barınma olanağı bulurken, ev yaşamını tercih edenler ise kiralık ev bulmakta sıkıntı
çekmemektedirler. Atatürk Üniversitesi merkez yerleşkede Kredi ve Yurtlar Kurumu’na ait yurtlar bulunmaktadır.
Yurtlarla, Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi’nin uzaklığı yaya olarak en fazla 10 dakikadır. Bu yurtların bünyelerinde ders çalışma salonları, kütüphane, internet kafe, kantin ve kafeteryalar, duş kabin sistemleri ve fotokopi üniteleri yer almaktadır. Atatürk Üniversitesi’nin merkez yerleşkesinin bulunduğu Erzurum’da Milli Savunma Bakanlığı, Emniyet Genel Müdürlüğü, Kızılay ile özel sektöre ait yurt binaları da üniversite gençliğine hizmet sunmaktadır.
The students of Ataturk University do not experience hardships on accommodation thanks to the public
dormitories that accommodate the students with the warmth of a family enterprise and atmosphere. The bulk of the students find accommodation at the dormitories owned and run by the General Directorate of Student Loans and Dormitories whereas students who prefer private homes do not have any difficulty finding apartments for rent in the city. In the Main Campus of Ataturk University there are dormitories that are owned by the General Directorate of Student Loans and Dormitories. The distance from these dorms to the Faculty of Fine Arts is about ten minutes walk. The facilities and amenities at these dorms include study rooms, libraries, internet cafes, cafes and cafeterias, copy centers and shower cabins. Also in downtown Erzurum where the Main Campus is located, there are private dormitories and public dormitories that belong to the Ministry of National Security, Turkish National Police and Kizilay (Turkish Red Crescent). All these dormitories meet the accommodation need of the university students.

Atatürk Üniversitesi bünyesinde ucuz ve kaliteli yemek hizmeti sunulan yemekhane mevcuttur. Ders yılı boyunca diyetisyenlerin denetiminde, mevsimlere göre öğrencilerin ihtiyacı olan kalori ve besini ihtiva eden yemekler hazırlanmaktadır. Burada bir öğünde verilen üç çeşit yemek için öğrencilerimizden 2.00 TL ücret alınmaktadır. Ayrıca fakülte ve yüksekokulların bünyesinde bulunan kantin ve kafeteryalarda da öğrencilerin yeme içme gereksinimlerini karşılayan hizmetler sunulmaktadır.
The University Cafeteria serves quality food at low cost to university students. Throughout the academic year under close supervision of dieticians, the cafeteria assures providing meals and menus that meet the students’ nutritional and daily calorie needs. A regular three-course meal costs 2.00 TL at the cafeteria. Furthermore, at various faculty and college buildings cafes and cafeterias serve food and drinks to the students.

Atatürk Üniversitesi öğrencilerin muhtemel sağlık sorunlarını çözecek çok donanımlı ve yeterli olanaklara sahip birimlerin bulunduğu bir yükseköğretim kurumudur. Tıp Fakültesi Araştırma Hastaneleri, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi ile Sağlık Kültür Spor Dairesi Başkanlığı Sağlık Merkezi ve Sağlık Bakanlığı Aile Hekimliği Merkezi öğrencilerimize sağlık hizmeti sunmaktadır. Sağlık hizmetlerinden sosyal güvencesi olmayan her öğrenci yararlanabilmektedir.
Öğrencilerimiz, kendilerine Sağlık Kültür ve Spor Dairesi tarafından verilen sağlık karneleri ile öncelikle
üniversite ve devlet hastaneleri olmak üzere her sağlık kurumundan hizmet alabilmektedir. Bu kurumlarda öğrencilerin ayakta ya da yataklı tedavileri yapılmakta, hastane ve ilaç giderleri ile gözlük reçete bedelleri üniversitemiz tarafından karşılanmaktadır.
With its very well-equipped and adequate health facilities, Ataturk University is a higher education institution that can assure the well-being of its students in case of potential health problems. The Faculty of Medicine Research Hospitals, The Dental School, The Health, Culture and Sports Office Health Center and The Ministry of Health Community Health Center provide health services to our students.Every student, including ones without any social security or insurance, can use the health services provided at these centers. Our students acquire their health id cards from the Health, Culture and Sports Office, and upon obtaining their id cards they benefit from the health services provided by any health institution, university hospital and public hospitals being the principal addresses.
At these institutions, students receive walk-in and inpatient treatments, and the cost of their visits, drugs and eye-glasses are paid by our university.

Üniversitemizde; öğrencilerin özgüven kazanmalarına, beceri ve yeteneklerini keşfetmelerine, ne istediklerini bulmalarına, çözüm seçenekleri geliştirmelerine, yaşadıkları ortamı ve bulundukları çevreyi çeşitli yönleriyle tanımalarına, mensubu oldukları kurumların işlevlerini kural ve uygulamalarını öğrenmelerine yardımcı olmak amacıyla psikolojik danışmanlık ve rehberlik hizmetleri verilmektedir.
Psychological guidance and counseling services are provided at our university in order to help students improve their self-esteem, discover and acknowledge their potential and talents, find what they seek, develop alternative solutions, get to know to their living environment and learn about it from different aspects, and learn about the rules and practices of the institutions they attend to.

Öğrencilerin ders dışı zamanlarının sosyal, kültürel ve sanatsal etkinliklerle değerlendirilme-sini sağlamak amacıyla çok yönlü kültürel hizmetler gerçekleştirilmektedir. Öğrencilere yö-nelik halk oyunları, Türk halk müziği, hafif batı müziği, bağlama ve tiyatro kursları açılmak-tadır. Bu kurslar için herhangi bir ücret talep edilmemektedir. Ayrıca yıl boyunca tiyatro gösterimleri, konserler, kültür şenlikleri, müzik ve halk oyunları gösterileri, sinema günleri, so-kak şenlikleri, anma ve kutlama törenleri, sergi, kongre, panel, sempozyum, konferans gibi kültürel, sanatsal ve bilimsel etkinlikler düzenlenmektedir.
In order to provide venues and encourage the students for extracurricular activities all-purpose social, cultural and artistic activities are organized at the University.
These activities include free folk dance, folk music, pop music, acting and musical instrument classes. In addition to these personal development classes, throughout the year cultural, artistic and academic activities such as theatre plays, concerts, cultural festivals, music and folk dance shows, movie festivals, street festivals, parades and festivals, exhibitions, conferences, panels, symposiums and congresses are held in and out of the university.

Üniversitemizde öğrencilerimizin derslerindeki performanslarının yanı sıra bedensel ve ruhsal sağlıkları da önemsendiği için sportif etkinliklere ayrı bir önem verilmektedir. Ücretsiz olarak sürdürülen bu etkinliklere her yıl ortalama 5000 öğrenci katılmaktadır. Atatürk Üniversitesi bünyesinde 10 spor salonu, uluslararası standartlara sahip 3000 seyirci kapasiteli bir stadyum, bir yüzme havuzu, 2 spor kompleksi (tenis kortları, basketbol ve voleybol sahaları ile mini futbol sahasından oluşan), bir spor merkezi, içinde kafeterya ve dinlenme bölümlerinin bulunduğu bir bowling salonu, yürüyüş ve koşu parkurları ile dinlenme alanları bulunmaktadır.
Atatürk Üniversitesi bünyesinde kişilerarası diyalogun geliştirilmesi ve toplumsal duyarlılığın yaşatılması amacıyla çeşitli öğrenci kulüpleri kurulmuştur. Tamamen öğrencilerin katılımı ile kurulan ve onların kontrolünde işlevlerini sürdüren 78 öğrenci kulübünün etkinlikleri üniversitemize ayrı bir zenginlik katmaktadır.
Our education philosophy at Ataturk University pays special attention to academic performance of the students as well as their mental and physical health. Therefore, sport activities are deemed essential. On an average, each year around five thousand students and academic personnel participate in sport activities. At Ataturk University, there are ten sport halls, two sport complexes (including tennis courts, basketball and volleyball fields, and mini football fields), a stadium with a capacity of 3000 people and in international standards, a swimming pool, a sports center, a bowling saloon with a cafeteria and recreational facilities, walking and running courts, and various recreational parks.
At Ataturk University, several student clubs are established in order to improve interpersonal dialogue and communication, and to contribute to the social awareness and help. The activities of 78 student clubs, which are exclusive to and totally controlled by the university students, enrich the social atmosphere of the university.

Atatürk Üniversitesi’nde güvenliğin tesisi için bir Özel Güvenlik ve Koruma Müdürlüğü Şubesi oluşturulmuştur. Bu birimin 110 elemanı fakülte, yüksekokul ve lojmanlar ile yerleşkenin tamamını sabotaj, yangın, hırsızlık, saldırı gibi tehdit ve tehlikelere karşı korumakla görevlidir.

Erzurum is an easily acces sible city from any part of Turkiye in terms of transportation. Transportation can be made via air, by highways or railway. Erzurum Airport serves 24 hours every day. Turkish Airlines daily flights between Erzurum and İstanbul (one flight to and from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, and two flights to/from Atatürk Airport), and between Erzurum and Ankara (three days a week, four days one-way) is complemented by Sun Express’s daily Erzurum- İzmir and Erzurum-Antalya flights as well as Erzurum-Bursa flights occurring four days of the week. Commuting by rail is possible with trains running regularly between İstanbul, Ankara and İzmir. Atatürk Üniversitesi bünyesinde 1992 yılında kurulan ve 1994-1995 yılında eğitim-öğretime başlayan Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi, sanatın birçok dalında başarı grafiğini her geçen yıl yükselterek Türk yüksek öğretiminde saygın bir yer edinmiştir.
İçinde derslik, stüdyo, laboratuar, atölyeler, müze, gösteri ve sergi salonları bulunan 14.000 metrekarelik kullanım alanına sahip binası ile fiziki altyapısını büyük ölçüde tamamlayan Atatürk Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi’nde eğitim-öğretim ve bilimsel çalışmalar 7 Profesör, 7 Doçent, 30 Dr. Öğr. The Faculty of Fine Arts at Ataturk University was founded in 1992 and began to accept students in 1994-1995 Academic Year. The school gradually rose to prominence in several disciplines of arts. Each passing year added to the success of the Faculty, and consequently the school acquired its respectable status among the art schools in Turkish higher education.
The Faculty building developed into a full-fledged complex with near perfect physical infrastructure and 14000 square meters of physical space, which is comprised of classrooms, studios, laboratories, workshops, museums, exhibition and show rooms. The Faculty of Fine Arts at Ataturk University is staffed with an academic personnel of 77 people. The academic staff of instruction and research include 7 Professor, 7 Associate Professors, 30 Dr. Teaching Member, 12 Lecturers, 21 Research Assistants, 1 İnstructors and 1 Academic Specialists. All Departments have Ph. D.
The Faculty’s student acceptance procedure involves a multi-phase process which is based on proficiency in artistic ability. The entrance exams are prepared according to different academic and artistic selection criteria.

Bölümümüz küresel anlamda çağdaş sanat yaklaşımlarını benimseyen ve amaçlayan eğitim anlayışıyla öğrencilere üretken ve yaratıcı güçlerini arttırmak için, bir yandan uygulamalı derslerle sanat disiplini yerleştirilmeye çalışılırken diğer yandan kuramsal derslerle de

Uygulamalı dersler disiplinli bir gözlem yoluyla nesneler arasındaki ilişkileri yorumlamayı, uygun ifade aracını seçme becerilerini geliştirmeyi, nesne ya da olayları çözümlemeyi ve kavramsal ilişkileri sorgulanmayı, kuramsal dersler ise sanat tarihi bilgilerinin yanı sıra sanat felsefesi, sanat kuramları gibi bilgisel ve düşünsel tarafı güçlendirmeyi
sağlamaktadır.
Karma atölye mantığı yürütülen atölye sisteminde öğrenci sanatsal yaklaşımına göre kaçıncı sınıf olduğu gözetilmeden çalışmak istediği öğretim üyesinin atölyesini seçme özgürlüğüne sahip olmakla birlikte, mesleki eğitim anlamında 10’u aşkın seçmeli yan atölye ile de klasik tekniklerden çağdaş tekniklere geniş bir yelpazede eğitim alma şansına sahip olmaktadır.
Böylelikle gerek lissans gerekse lisans üstü eğitimde öğrenciye oldukça geniş bir özgür eğitim alanı bırakılmaktadır.

Our education philosophy at the Department of Painting aims to follow and embrace the global modern art trends and perspectives. While on one hand the students get into the basics of the discipline of arts with the help of applied classes, with the help of theoretical classes on the other hand, they begin forming the pillars of their artistic characters through building on their intellectual perspectives.
The applied courses help students to interpret the relations and interactions between the subjects through disciplined observation, provide them opportunities to develop skills in choosing the suitable means of expression, questioning the conceptual relations and analyzing the subjects and events. Theoretical courses improve the intellectual abilities and knowledge levels of the students by giving them the necessary knowledge on subjects such as Art History, Art Philosophy and Art Theory.
The workshop classes at our Department are executed according to Mixed Workshop logic. In this system students can choose their art supervisors regardless of their grade levels as well as choosing between more than ten secondary workshops. This system allows the students to benefit from a wide array of choices extending from classical techniques to modern techniques. Therefore, in both undergraduate and graduate levels students have the chance to exploit the fruits of a free educational space of choices based on their skills and artistic tastes.
The Department of Painting accepts students in its Undergraduate (Main-Regular Track and Second Tier-Evening Classes) and Graduate (Master’s Degree and Proficiency in Arts) programs in which two Professors, Four Associate Professors, One Dr. Teaching Member, One Lectiure and four Research Assistants. form up the academic team of ten faculty members.

Çağdaş sanat ve tasarım alanlarına katkı sağlayabilecek yaratıcı, gözlemci, araştırmacı ve üretken sanatçıların yetiştirilmesi amacıyla kurulmuş olan Heykel Bölümü’nde akademik etkinlikler 1 Profesör, 3 Dr. Öğr. Üyesi, 1 Öğretim Görevlisi, 3 Araştırma Görevlisi olmak üzere toplam 8 Öğretim Elemanı tarafından yürütülmektedir.
Bölümde, Atölye çalışmalarında ve bu çalışmaları destekleyen kuramsal dersler ve etkinlikler aracılığı ile heykeltıraşlığın gerektirdiği temel bilgilenme ilkelerini aktarmada olabildiğince çok seçenek içeren, bireysel yaratıcılığın desteklendiği çağdaş anlayış temelinde bir program yürütülmektedir. Öğrenciler birinci sınıfta Temel Sanat Eğitimi, Desen, Modelaj, Teknik Çizim ve Perspektif dersleri ile yaratıcılık, ifade ve kompozisyon yeteneklerini geliştirmekte, İkinci sınıftan itibaren heykel atölyelerinde proje çalışmalarını sürdürmektedirler. Kil, taş, metal, ahşap gibi farklı malzemelerle biçimlendirilen, anıt-heykellerden madalyona değin birbirinden çok farklı boyutlarda sunulabilen heykel sanatı alanında gerekli olan Heykel Teknolojisi, Temel Mimari dersleri ve Fotoğraf, Sanat Eserleri Analizi, Estetik ve Sanat Felsefesi, Çağdaş Sanat Yorumu gibi kuramsal dersler ile program desteklenmektedir.
İş olanakları: Bu bölümü bitirenler; çevre tasarımcılığı, serbest heykel sanatçılığı, madalya ve mücevher tasarımcılığı, dekoratörlük, sanat danışmanlığı, yükseköğretim kurumlarında seçmeli sanat dersleri eğitimciliği yapabilmekte, Güzel Sanatlarla ilgili eğitim ve araştırma kurumlarında akademik eleman olarak çalışabilmektedirler.

The Department of Sculpture at Ataturk University was founded in order to educate creative, observant, inquisitive and productive artist candidates who can contribute to the fields of modern art and design. In the Department academic activities are carried out eight academic personnel among whom there are a Professor, three Dr. Teaching Member, a Lecturer, three Research Assistants.
The Department program has a modern approach which supports individual creativity. The program provides many options for its students in the transfer of basic knowledge required for becoming a sculpture artist with the help of workshop activities and the theoretical classes and applications that support the workshop activities. In the first year of the program, the students improve their creativity, expression and composition skills with Basic Art Education, Design and Pattern, Modeling, Technical Drawing and Perspective classes.
Starting from the second year, the students continue to work on their projects in the sculpting workshops. The art of sculpting uses materials such as clay, stone, metal and wood, and the size of the sculptures vary from lockets to monuments. In this pursuit the students working in the workshops complement their works by taking theoretical and applied courses such as Sculpting Technology, Basic Architecture, Artworks Analysis, Photography, Aesthetics and Art Philosophy and Modern Art Interpretation.
Career opportunities for the graduates of this program are spread on a wide spectrum. Students can choose their academic paths on becoming environmental designers, medallion and jewelry designers, decorators, art consultants, art instructors of selective art courses in higher education institutions, or academic staff in the research and education institutions related to Fine Arts.
This program also offers Master of Arts degree in Sculpting.

Temel derslerin yanı sıra bölümümüzdeki diğer sanat dallarından oluşan seçmeli dersler (Çini, Hat) öğrencilerin bu sanat alanlarında da bilgi sahibi olmalarını ve tasarım yapmalarını sağlar. The students of this program take theoretical and applied courses of the discipline such as Practical Workshop (Carpet Design, Kilim Design, Old Fabric Repair and Design), Carpet/ Kilim History, Carpet/ Kilim/ Fabric- Weaving Techniques and Applications, Textile Materials, Natural Paints, Fabric Structure Learning and Analysis.
They can also take general courses on Tezhip Art, Old Turkish, Turkish Art History and Turkish Traditional Handicrafts History. In addition to these courses, Jewelry Design, Porcelain, Gobelin Tapestry and Marbling classes offer different working atmospheres for the students of this program.
The graduates of this program can works as freelance artists, art consultants at private or public firms, and specialists in libraries and museums. They can also pursue academic career or find employment as instructors of arts classes at higher education institutions
of art.
At this main academic branch of arts in the Department, applied and theoretical courses such as İllimination Design, Old Turkish, Miniature, Book Arts, Interior Design and Restoration, and Calligraphic Art are offered. The curriculum is reinforced by Turkish Art History and Modern Artistic Interpretation courses. The program also allows its students to select courses from other art disciplines in the Department such as Porcelain and Calligraphy, and thus enables them to become knowledgeable in such arts and make designs. The graduates can work freelance or as art consultants in public and private sector, as restaurateurs in libraries and museums, calligraphers or book binding masters and as designers or experts in textile, porcelain and carpet factories. Those who choose to remain in the academic field can find employment opportunities in the universities or colleges as instructors of selective art courses or as academic personnel in higher education institutions.

Yurdumuzun ihtiyaç duyduğu müzik bilimcisi, müzik yapımcısı, kompozitör, ses ve saz sanatçısı yetiştirmek, evrensel ve milli müziğin kaynağını, tarihsel gelişimini araştırmak, bu alanda araştırma ve inceleme yapmak için gerekli yöntem ve teknikleri içeren genel kültürü kazandırmak amacıyla kurulmuş olan Müzik Bilimleri Bölümünde, 2 Profesör, 5 Doçent, 4 Dr. Öğr. Üyesi, 4 Araştırma Görevlisi olmak üzere toplam 14 Öğretim Elemanı görev yapmaktadır.
Eğitim ve Öğretim çalışmaları, öğrencilerin var olan yeteneklerini geliştirmelerinin yanında, yaratıcı yeteneklerini geliştirecek ve onlara mesleklerinde güçlü bir kişilik kazandıracak araştırmacı ve bilimsel düşünme güçlerini artıracak şekilde yürütülmektedir. Öğrenimin ilk iki yılında temel müzik eğitimi verilmekte, genel müzik bilgisi alanında yaratıcı sanat yeteneklerinin geliştirilmesi için bilgi, yöntem ve teknikler kazandırılmaktadır. Öğrenim sürecinin son iki yılında ise, müzik bilimi, müzik araştırmacılığı ve inceleme alanındaki programlar uygulanmaktadır.
İş olanakları: Bölüm mezunları; Pedagojik Formasyon Eğitimi alarak müzik öğretmeni, sanatçı, araştırmacı, eleştirmen, sanat danışmanı ve müzik yönetmeni olarak iş bulabilmekte, bunun yanı sıra güzel sanatlarla ilgili yükseköğretim kurumlarında akademik eleman olarak çalışabilmektedirler. Ayrıca orkestra ve korolarda icracı olarak mesleklerini yürütebilmektedirler.

The Musicology Department at Ataturk University was established in order to conduct academic research in the historical evolution of music, in finding the origins of universal and national music and provide the researchers the necessary general knowledge in conducting this research with the proper techniques and methods. Another goal of the program is to train and educate musicologists, music producers, composers and vocalists and instrument players. The Department is staffed with fourteen academic personnel of whom three are Two Professor, Five Associate Professors, Four are Dr. Teaching Member and Three are Research Assistants.
The education at the Department is followed on the basis of improving the skills of students as well as helping them realize their thinking capacity, which will develop their creative potential and help them become strong personalities in their future professions. In the first two years of the program the students get fundamental music education, and for the development of their artistic skills they acquire general knowledge, technique and methodology. The last two years of their study is focused on musicology, research and analysis in musicology.
The graduates can find employment as music teachers after completing their pedagogical formation training.
They can also seek career opportunities as artists, researchers, art critics, art consultants and musical directors. The career opportunities are not limited;
besides pursuing an academic career, our graduates can also become vocal and musical instrument artists in orchestras and choirs.

Sahne Sanatları Bölümü’nün amacı, uygulamalı ve deneysel çalışmaların yanı sıra, kuramsal çalışmaların da önemli olduğu Tiyatro Sanatı ve Bilimi alanında, ülkemizin gereksinimlerini karşılayacak nitelikte oyuncu, dramatik yazar ve sahne tasarımcısı (dekor, giysi, ışıklama, efekt, iç tasarım vb.) yetiştirmektir. Bölümde 1 Profesör, 1 Doçent, 3 Dr. Öğr. Üyesi, 3 Öğretim Görevlisi ve 4 Araştırma Görevlisi olmak üzere toplam 12 Öğretim Elemanı görev yapmaktadır.
Sahne Sanatları Bölümü, Dramatik Yazarlık Sanat Dalı, Oyunculuk Sanat Dalı ve Sahne Tasarımı Sanat Dalı olmak üzere üç sanat dalında lisans düzeyinde eğitim vermektedir. Her bir sanat dalının öğrencisi, Tiyatro Tarihi ve Kuramları, Oyun incelemesi, Türk Tiyatrosu Tarihi, Sahne Uygulaması gibi ortak derslerin yanı sıra kazanmış oldukları anasanat dalının özelliğine göre belirlenmiş olan branş derslerini almaktadırlar.
Dramatik Yazarlık Sanat Dalı, tiyatro, sinema, radyo-TV gibi, sahne ve görüntü sanatları alanında gereksinim duyulan yazarları yetiştirmek amacını taşımaktadır. Öğrencilerin dramatik yazarlık tekniğinin gerektirdiği bilgi ve uygulamaların yanı sıra, dramaturgi ve tiyatro araştırmacılığı alanlarında gerekli formasyonu kazanacakları bir eğitim öğretim programı uygulanmaktadır. İş olanakları: Bölümü bitirenler; oyun yazarı, devlet ve özel tiyatrolarda dramaturg, dizi ve film sektöründe senarist, radyolarda program yapımcısı ve senarist olarak iş bulabilmektedirler.
Oyunculuk Sanat Dalı, ülkemizde, üniversite düzeyinde oyunculuk eğitimi (ağırlıklı olarak tiyatro alanında) veren lisans programlarından biridir.
Nitelikli bir oyuncuda olması gereken ruhsal, fiziksel ve düşünsel yaratıcılığa altyapı oluşturan, konuşma sanatı, hareket, şan, ritmik ve dans, solfej, rol, eskrim, makyaj, yönetmenin tarihi gibi teorik ve uygulamalı derslerle oldukça yoğun bir program yürütülmektedir. İş Olanakları: Oyunculuk anasanat dalı mezunu öğrenciler; Devlet Tiyatrosu ile özel ve şehir tiyatrolarında, TV dizilerinde ve sinema sektöründe oyuncu olarak iş imkânı bulabilmekte ve dublaj sanatçısı olarak çalışabilmektedirler.
Sahne Tasarımı Sanat Dalı, tiyatro, sinema, TV gibi alanlarda gereksinim duyulan sahne ve set düzenlemelerinin tüm teknik-estetik sorunlarını çözebilecek bilgi ve beceriyi edinmiş sahne tasarımı sanatçılarını yetiştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Dekor, kostüm, ışık, efekt, vitrin tasarımı, TV -sinema set tasarımı ve iç dekorasyon konularında kuramsal ve uygulamalı bir eğitim programı yürütülmektedir.
İş Olanakları: Bölüm mezunları; devlet tiyatroları ile özel
tiyatrolarda, TV setlerinde, iç dekorasyon ve mobilya tasarım firmalarında çalışma olanağı bulabilmektedirler. Devlet opera ve balelerinde dekor ve kostüm tasarımcısı olarak iş bulabilen bölüm mezunları ayrıca TV set tasarımı, vitrin tasarımı alanlarında da çalışabilmektedirler.

Our goal in the Department of Performing Arts is to educate and train actors, dramatists and stage designers (costume, settings, lighting, special effects, interior design, etc…) who will meet the quality personnel need in Turkiye in an art discipline such as dramaturgy and histrionics where theoretical studies are as important as experimental and applied studies. There are 12 academic personnel at the Department; One Professor, One Associate Professors, three Dr. Teaching Member, three Lecturers and Four Research Assistants.
The Department of Performing Arts is divided into three undergraduate art disciplines: Drama Writing, Acting and Stage Design. Students of each art discipline take common classes such as The History of Theatre, Play Analysis, The History of Turkish Theater and Stage Application as well as sub-discipline courses specific to their respected disciplines.
The art discipline of drama writing aims to train writers needed in fields of stage and visual arts such as theater, cinema and radio-TV.
The program involves teaching of knowledge and applications in drama writing techniques as well as supplying foundations and competent formation in the fields of dramaturgy and histrionics. The graduates can find employment as dramatists, dramaturges in public and private theaters, screenplay writers for TV shows and movies or radio show producers or writers.
The undergraduate program of Acting Studies in the Department of Performing Arts is one of the university-level acting training (concentrated on play acting) programs in Turkiye. The intensive training program is reinforced with applied and theoretical classes such as art of speaking, motion, singing, rhythm and dancing, solfeggio, role-playing, fencing, and history of directing. The graduates of this program can find employment in the state theaters, private and city theaters, or as actors or dubbing artists in TV or movie sectors.
The program in Stage Design aims to train individuals sought by TV, movie and theater sectors as stage design artists who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle the technical and visual problems that can be encountered in stage and studio settings. In the subjects of settings, costumes, lighting, special effects, display design, studio design in movies and TV programs, and interior design the students receive theoretical and applied education in this program.
The graduates can find employment in state and private theaters, TV studios, and interior design and furniture design firms. State opera and ballet institutions are another avenue of employment for the graduates of this program who can also work at TV studio designs or display designs.

Siyah-beyaz karanlık oda, renkli karanlık oda, çekim stüdyosu ve ön hazırlık odalarına sahip Fotoğraf Bölümünde, 3 Dr. Öğr. Üyesi görev yapmaktadır.
Grafik Bölümü ağırlıklı olmak üzere Güzel sanatlar Fakültesinin tüm bölümlerinin fotoğrafa giriş ve uygulamalı fotoğraf dersleri bu bölüm tarafından verilmektedir. Öğrenciler, karanlık oda ve stüdyo çalışmalarının yanı sıra, şehir içi ve şehir dışında küçük boy standart makineler ile serbest çekim yapmaktadır.

In the Department of Photography, which has black and white dark rooms, colored dark rooms, shooting studios and pre-rehearsal rooms, there are three Dr. Teaching Member academic specialists employed. Our Department offers instruction of the Introduction to Photography and Applied Photography to all departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts students, Graphic Design students in particular. Students are occupied with working in the dark rooms and studios as well as shooting free style with small standard cameras both in and out of the city during their training.
