Droncit'in Etkisi
Özet: Vurdumuz evcil karnivorlarında şeritler geniş bil' yayılış alanına sahiptir. Bunlara ilaveten gerek evcil ve gerekse yabani etcillerde görülen olgun Echinococcııs gra-mılosus'dan ötürü Türkiye'de gevişenlerde ve insanlarda sık halde kist hidatid'lere rast lan-makta ve bu durum hem ekonomik hem de halk sağlığı açısından problemler doğıırn'ak-tadır.
Bu çalışmanın am?CI, köpek ve kedilerde görülen ~eritl('re karşı Droncit'in antel-mentik etkisini saptamak olmuştur. Bu suretle, özellikle bir zoonose karakteri gösteren Echinococcus granulosus'a karşı yeni ve etkili bir ilaç olduğu bildirilen bu aııtelmentiğin niteliklerini belirliyerek, sonuçları ilgili meslektaşlarımıza duyurmayı yararlı gördük.
Droncit, suni olarak 20.000 E.granulosus proıosco"',,'i ilc eııfekıe edilmiş 10 köpek üzerinde denenmiştir.
Droncit, gerek olgun gerekse genç E.granulosus taşıyan köpeklerde .~ mg. jkg. hesaplanarak kullanılmış ve ilacın hcl' iki grup köpekteki bu sestodlara etkisinin % 100 ol-duğu saptanmıştır. Aynı ilaç yine suni olarak Taenia hyelatigena ile enlt,kte beş köpekte 1 mg.jkg. hesaplanarak kullanılmış, otopsi sonucunda etkisi % 100 bıılunmuşıur.
Dipylidium caninum'la doğalolarak enfekte bil' köpeğe 2.5 nıg.jkg. hesaplanarak verilen Dronci!'in ise etkisi yine % IUO olmuştur.
Aynı ilaç Hydaıigera ıaeniaeformis'le suni olar2.k enfekte edilmiş kedilerde i nıg. jkg. hesaplanarak kullanılmış, olOpsi sonucunda etkisi tam bulunmuştur.
Joyeuxiella pasqualei ilc 23 günlük enfektc iki kedide ila~: 2.5 mg.jkg., birisinde ise i mg.jkg. olarak kullanılmış, bu kedilerin otopsileri sonucunda etki yine tam görülmüştür. Aynı parazitle doğal enfekte kedilere Droncit hel' kilograma 2 ..~ mg. hesaplanarak kııl-lanıImış, etki %100 bulunmuştur.

İlaeın yüksek dozlarının yan tesirlerini saptamak için köpek leri n her kilosuna 10 mg. kedilerin ise :)-10 mg. vererek yaptığımız deneylerde bu hayvanlarda klinikman snptanabi-lcn herhangi kötü bir tesir görülmemiştir.
Alınan bu sonuçlarla, Dmneit'in gerek köpek ve gerekse kedilerdeki önemli beş sestod türüne yüksek bir etki gösterdiği anlaşılmıştır.
Bu sonuçlar,özellikle kist hydatid'in fazlasıyla yaygın olduğu yurdumuzda ve geliş-mekte olan diğ'er hazı ülkelerde bu hastalığın savaş ,'e kontrolünde ümit verici bir dönüm noktası olacağına bizi inandırmaktadır.
Distribution of tapeworms in dogs and cats is wide in Turkey

So we always interested in ne\\! products which claİmed to be effeetive against eestodes of domestic anİmals.
Yarious anthelminties whieh are found in Turkish market, showed different aetions against differcnt. tapeworms of dogs and cats (1). So we dceided to investigate the dfeet of Droneit to above mentioned parasites of the domestie earnivores.
Materİals and Methods
The drug was tested in 15 dogs agaİnst Eehiııoeoeeus granulo-sus, in 8 dogs against Taenia hydatigena and in 9 cats against Hyda-tigera taeniaeformis \Vhieh were infectcd artificialIy.
Eaeh of fifteen dogs was inketed with 20.000 E.granulosus pro-toseoliees of ovine origin, eight dogs with 5 Cystieereus tenuicoııis of sheep origin, and eats with 5 Cystieercus fasciolaris obtained from albino mice.
The drug also tested İn one dog naturally İnfceted with Dipyli-dium eaninum and iıı 8 cats sİx of which were artİfİeiaııy inleeted \vith joycuxidla pasqualei aııd the remainiııg two ııaturally infeeted with the same tapeworm.
Eaeh of the six cats was infeeted by fCeding 35 j.pasqualei eysti-cercoids obtained Irom naturaııy infected lizards, Hemidactylus tureieus.
Droneit was used in tablet form in dogs. In order to regulate the exact dose rates in cats, wc preferred to use the drug by dissolving the tablets in water.
~o special diet or fast were applied to the test animals before the treatment.
All animals with the exception of two eats in j.pasqualei group, were sacrifieed seven days af ter the treatment.

Dipylidium caninum 2 .5 O 100 During the time of treatment, ın the first E.granulosus group whieh consists of seven dogs, the tapeworms were 94 days old and sexually mature, whereas III the second group, the tapeworms \'iere54 days old and were Ilot fully developed.
Five dogs ın T.hydatigena group were treated soon af ter the deteetion of eggs in their faeces.
vVithin the dose ranges wc used, not any adverse effeet of the drug has been observed III th(~ dogs.
At neeropsy, in all eases 17-124 asearids (Either Toxocara eanıs or Toxasearis leonina) were found ın the intestines of the treated animals.

shows the effeet of Droneit against different tapeworms ın eats.All 6 eats were earrying mature H.taeniaeformis on the day of their treatment.
In J.pasqualei group, the first three aııimals wc re treated on 23th day of their pateney.

As mentioned above, the last two cats from this group ,vere na-turally infected with j.pasqualei, and af ter treatment, their faeees examined witlı weekly intervals for one month. Xo ova, egg capsules or any segment wne see n during these examinations.
At necropsy [ 18 Toxoeara mystax were recovered from the treated cats.
:\'0 side effeets were observed 111these animals within the dose
ranges of Droncit wc used.
To understanel tlw sicle effects of higher closes in elogs and cats, 5-[ O mg./kg. of Droncit were used in these animals. No clinical symptoms were seen in the animals during one week period of obser-vation.
Discussion
The results we obtained Ii'om the experiments, we reached the conclusion that Droneit is an ideal anthclmintie against common dog and cat tapeworms. Speeially for the control of Echinococcus granulosus in dogs, this new product wil! open a new turning point. So in the eountries where Iıydatidosis is a severe problem, the drug will help to cradicate the infection both in man and in animals.
