In-Text Citation
You can use the sources in your text in two different ways: direct quoting and indirect quoting.
Indirect quoting you copy sentences from your source verbatim, i.e. word by word. This method must be used sparingly. If the style of the author is idiosyncratic, then you should quote directly. Otherwise, quote it
indirectly.
In indirect quoting you summarize or paraphrase.
Summarizing, as you know, is writing down the main idea of a text or a section of a text in your own words.
Paraphrasing is used in shorter section and in this type of quoting, you re-write the selected ideas in your own wording.
