Thesis
Title How illusion becomes true? The revision of religious Pan-identity Abstract At the turn of the 21st century, globalization is the order of the day,
with international migration bringing the alien “other” from developing countries to the developed West. Affiliations and supranational organizations based on religion, ethnic Diasporas and trans-regional trading associations are competing with nation-states in the international affairs. The transnational connections of European immigrants are forging a new type of relations with their host societies. In general, the new relations formed are not friendly and the use of violence is becoming inescapable occasionally. The riots, suicide bombings and racist tortures are becoming usual events in the European agenda. In Europe, the regulations concerning the migration are getting tougher day by day. Generally, the Muslim minority of Europe became to be seen as incompatible with European society. The religious identity is dominating for both European Muslims and Christians. Suicide bombers, who are revenging for the people of allegedly Muslim community, increased in number. The solidarity of Islamic world and the formation of a new Islamic pan-identity are in focus of the European agenda. The discourses over Crusades versus Jihad are more often spoken among people.
