Demonstration of a hypoplastic aortic

arch by computed tomographic

angiography

Hipoplastik aort arkusunun

bilgisayarl› tomografik anjiyografi ile

görüntülenmesi

A female term neonate was referred to our clinic with dyspnea, easy fati-gability, and cyanosis. Echocardiographic exam-ination revealed a large secundum type atrial sep-tal defect, pulmonary hypertension, and a hypoplastic aortic arch. Computed tomographic angiography demonstrated the extracardiac pathology. A dilated main pulmonary artery, a small ductus arteriosus, and the hypoplastic aortic arch were documented (Figures A-C).

Figures. (A) Anterior view of the heart showing a hypoplastic arch and dilated pulmonary trunk. A patent ductus is also observ-able. (B) Hypoplastic aortic arch and the arch vessels. Aortic coarctation is also present. (C) Hypoplastic aortic arch and the arch vessels. Ductal tissue is noted near the coarctated aorta.
