H. Ulaş Yavuz
He was born in Antakya where his family lived due to his father’s job in May 21st 1974. He finished Bursa Boys Highschool which is one the oldest highschools in Turkey. He took place in the first 100 in University exams in 1991 and started to study in Hacettepe University Medical School. He studied general surgery in Messina University Hospital in İtaly and Rijeka University Hospital in Crotia and he did internship in Orthopedics and Traumatology in Vall D’hebron University in Barcelona, Spain. He graduated from medical school in 1998.
He finished his masters in sports medicine in 2002 and his PhD in sport science and technologies- exercise physiology in 2007 in Hacettepe University. He worked as a medical doctor in Sportsmen Education Health and Research Center in General Management of Youth and Sports between 2000 and 2004. He worked as the team doctor in many national teams in different sport branches during international sport events and contributed to many achievements with these teams. He was the team doctor of National Wrestling Senior Team between 2002 and 2007 and won prizes when the team took the 3rd place in European championship, the 2nd place in world championship and when the team was the champion of the Europe and the champion of the world. He is still a member of health comitee of Turkish wrestling federation. He started to work in Near East University Physical Education and Sports Highschool in 2006. He also served to the university athletes as a medical and performance consultant in Near East University Health Center. He started to work in NEU Hospital Sports Medicine Department in October 2011. He became an assistant professor in September 2012 and associate professor in February 2015. He has been giving lectures in trainer’s education and development seminers in many federations in Turkey and TRNC and he has been the head of trainer’s education department in NEU since 2008. Dr. H. Ulaş Yavuz is a member of FIMS (International Federation of Sports Medicine), ECSS (European College of Sport Sciences) ve ACSM (American Colllege of Sports Medicine).
