Değerli Meslektaşlarım ve Saygıdeğer Okuyucular,
History Studies Dergisinin 7. sayısı ile karşınızda olmanın mutluluğunu yaşıyoruz. Öncelikle bu sayının misafir editörlüğü için teklifte bulunan derginin editörü Doç. Dr. Osman KÖSE Bey’e teşekkür ederim. History Studies Dergisi’nin E-dergi olarak yayın hayatına başladığından bugüne kadar aksamadan sistematik olarak çıkmaya devam etmesi genelde sosyal bilimler ve özelde ise Tarih bilimi açısından onur verici bir gelişme olmuştur. Özellikle bu tür dergilerin yayın hayatında olmasını, genç araştırmacılar için bir tür teşvik unsuru olarak görüyorum. Geçmiş dönemlerde yayınlarımızı göndermek için kaliteli bir elin parmaklarını geçmeyecek sayıda dergi bulabiliyorduk. Bunların büyük bir kısmı da enstitü dergileri idi. Ancak son yıllarda History Studies gibi Uluslar arası marka olma yolunda ilerleyen müstakil dergileri bulmak oldukça önemlidir. Bu derginin aksamadan çıkarılmasında emeği geçen başta editör Doç.
Dr. Osman KÖSE olmak üzere, tüm ekibe ve yazı göndererek destekleyen akademisyen, araştırmacı tüm destekçilere çok teşekkür ediyorum.
Dergimizin 7. sayısında 3 tanesi İngilizce olmak üzere 27 tane makale, 1 kitap çevirisi, 2 tane de kitap tanıtımı bulunmaktadır.

Dear Colleagues and Readers,
We enjoy the happiness of being with you with the 7. Issue of the Journal of History Studies. First of all I would like to thank Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman KOSE, the editor of this journal, for inviting me as a guest editor. The smooth functioning of the Journal of History Studies since the day it has been started to be published as an e- journal has been an honorary development for social sciences in general but especially for the science of History. I consider issuance of such journals as a motivation for young researchers. In the past the number of quality journals, which we could send our publications, was not more than that could be counted on the fingers of a hand.
Majority of them were journals of institutes.
Nevertheless, in recent years it is of great importance that we find individual journals like Journal of History Studies which gain ground in becoming an international trademark. I would like to thank the editor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman KOSE, and all of the team members, who contribute their efforts to publication of this journal without any failing, and the academicians and researchers and all those who support it by sending their articles.
In the 7. issue of our journal there are 27 articles the 3 of which are in English, 1 book translation and advertisements of 2 books.
Sibel Akgun has studied the relations between the Turkish Cypriot Intellectuals and the movements of the Young Turks between 1865-1918 in the process leading from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic in her article with the title
“Republic of Turkey Ottoman Empire in the Process of Transtion, the Turkish Cypriot Intellectuals Relations With Movement and the Young Turks (1865 - 1918).
Hatice Akin, in her article with the title “A Suggested Regulation Dated 1893 About Prison Reform In The Ottoman Empire” studied the Prison reform in the Ottomans in 1893 and the suggestion for regulation regarding this reform.
Evren Altinkas addresses the role of the intellectuals in the modernization of the
incelemiştir.

Ozlem Basarir has dealt with the relation between status and wealth in the Ottoman Provincial in the XVIII. Century in her article with the title “East-West Directioned The Status-Wealth Relationship in Ottoman Provincial Administration in XVIIIth Century”.
Cuneyt Coskun, in his article with the title “Between 16th-19th Century Social and Economic Life of the Ottoman Empire on the Effects of Science and Philosophy”
explains the effects of the social and economic life on Science and Philosophy in a very meaningful way.
Zuriye Celik, in her article with the title “Welcoming Ceremonies By Anatolian People For The Rulers Of The Seljuk Of Turkey (In The Universe Of Ibn Bibi)” tells about the welcoming ceremonies of the Anatolian people for the rulers of the Seljuk of Turkey, who will succeed to the throne, according to Ibn Bibi.
Ismail Ciftcioglu tells about The Nature of Relations between Muslims and Non-Muslims in Asia Minor during the XII.
and XIII. Centuries (19).
Ozlem Genc gives Capitulare Episcoporum as an Example of Capitularies of Middle Ages Bishops.
Ahmet Gunduz, in his article with the title “By Sicill-i Ahval Books Medal Take from Muslim and Non-Muslim Officials Kayseri, Rank, Insignia (M.1879- 1909)” considers the medals, ranks and insignia, which the Muslim and Non- Muslim Officials of Kayseri receive, according to the Sicill-i Ahval Books.
İbrahim Abdul Jowando studies the cultural attainments and the political violence in Nigeria in his article titled
“Political Violence and the Attainment of Democratic Culture in Nigeria”.
Adem Kara studies the problem of foundations in Cyprus and its reflections in his article titled “The Foundation Question in Cyprus”.
Ugur Kayhan contributes to elucidating the subject by adding new knowledge to that we know about the Ottoman-Iranian relations in the Era of I.

Esma Oz, in her work with the title
“A Nutrient in the Cuisine of Ancient Anatolia According to the Documents Cuneiform: SALT” studies the historical roots and the place of Salt in the culture of cuisine.
Ugur Ozcan in his article with the title “The Praxis of Bride Price by The Greeks And Albanians in the Institution of Marriage in The 19th Century” considers brideprice, which is one of the main subject of interest in the conventional meaning of the institution of marriage from the perspective of the Albanians and the Greeks (12).
Fahri Sakal has studied the pictures of İnönü which were printed in Germany.

Editörden Merhaba,
Yeni bir sayı ile karşınızda bulunuyoruz.
Derginin yayın hayatına başlamasının üçüncü yılını bitirirken ikisi özel ve yedisi sayı olmak üzere toplam dokuz sayıyı geride bırakmış oluyoruz.
History Studies dergisinin bu sayısında Selçuklu, Osmanlı devleti ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti başta olmak üzere Biazns ve Roma dönemi, Hokand, Kazakistan ve Nijerya ile ilgili makaleler bulunmaktadır. Yine 1479 tarihli Kenyemerzo savaşı ile ilgili bir çeviri ve iki kitap tanıtımı yer almaktadır.
Böylece, bu sayıda toplam 30 makaleyi sizlerin istifadesine sunmuş oluyoruz. From the editor Hello;
It’s my pleasure to introduce you the new issue of the Journal of History Studies. By the end of the third year of the journal, we have published nine issues, two of which are special issues. The new issue of the journal contains 30 articles in total, primarily on Seljhuks, the Ottoman State and the Republic of Turkey as well as articles on Nigeria, and the Khanate of Kokand and Kazakhstan during Byzantine and Roman period. Also, we present a translated text about the Kenyemerzo War, dated 1479 and two book reviews. Hereby, we would like to thank esteemed researchers Sibel Akgün, Hatice Akin, Evren Altinkaş, Ozlem Başarir, Cuneyt Coskun, Zuriye Celik, Ismail Ciftcioglu, Ozlem Genc, Ahmet Gunduz, Ibrahim Abdul Jowando, Adem Kara, Ugur Kurtaran, Huseyin Kayhan, Sami Kilic, Ozer Kupeli, Sinan Marufoglu, Aldabergenova Moldır, Serhan Oksay, Esma Oz, Ugur Ozcan, Fahri Sakal, Ibrahim Caner Turk, Huseyin Ureten, Murat Yildiz, Erhan Yoska, Murat Yumlu, Robert Zens, Gokhan Dilbas, Kevser Tasdoner and Tamer Yildirim.
