GENEL BĝLGĝLER
1. Ankara Üniversitesi TÖp Fakültesi Mec-muasÖ, temel, dahili, cerrahi tÖp bilimleri ve tÖp eþitimi alanÖnda yapÖlmÖĹ özgün çalÖĹma, davetli derleme, olgu sunumu, kÖsa bildiri, editöre mektup, tarihsel ke-sit kategorilerinde yayÖn kabul etmek-tedir. ÇalÖĹmalar özgün, bilimsel açÖdan yüksek nitelikli ve kaynak gösterilebilir özellikte olmalÖdÖr.
2. MecmuamÖz, yÖlda üç sayÖ olarak yayÖnla-nÖr.
3. Ankara Üniversitesi TÖp Fakültesi Bünye-sinde düzenlenen veya yayÖn kurulunun kabul ettiþi bilimsel organizasyonlara ait sözlü/poster sunumlarÖna ait özetler, sayÖ eki olarak yayÖnlanabilir.
4. YayÖnlanmak üzere gönderilen yazÖlarÖn daha önce baĹka bir yerde yayÖnlan-mamÖĹ veya yayÖnlanmak üzere gönde-rilmemiĹ olmasÖ gerekir. YazÖlarda bildi-rilen görüĹler ve sonuçlar yazarlara ait-tir. Daha önce kongrede sunulmuĹ ve özeti yayÖnlanmÖĹ çalÖĹmalar, bu husus belirtilmek üzere kabul edilebilir. YayÖn için gönderilmiĹ çalÖĹmalarÖnÖ herhangi bir nedenle dergiden çekmek isteyenle-rin bir yazÖ ile baĹvurmalarÖ gerekir. Ya-yÖn komisyonu Ankara Üniversitesi TÖp Fakültesi MecmuasÖ için gönderilmiĹ ya-zÖlarda makale sahiplerinin bu maddeye uymayÖ kabul ettiklerini varsayar. 5. YayÖnlanmak üzere kabul edilen
yazÖla-rÖn telif haklarÖ Ankara Üniversitesi TÖp Fakültesi MecmuasÖ’na aittir. Dergiye gönderilen yazÖlara telif hakkÖ ödenmez. 6. Derginin yayÖn dili Türkçe ve ĝngiliz-ce'dir. 1. Gönderilen makalelerin içeriþi Uluslar arasÖ TÖp Dergileri Editörleri Komitesince yayÖnlanan ve AralÖk 2014 tarihinde güncellenen “Biyomedikal Dergilerde YayÖnlanacak Makalelerde UyulmasÖ ĝs-tenen Standart Kurallar” baĹlÖklÖ maka-lede belirtilen özellikleri taĹÖmalÖdÖr. Bu makalenin orijinaline www.icmje.org adresinden ulaĹÖlabilir.
2. YayÖnÖn araĹtÖrma ve yayÖn etiþine uygun olarak hazÖrlanmasÖ yazarlarÖn sorum-luluþundadÖr. AraĹtÖrmanÖn gerektirdiþi
insan/hayvan deneyleri etik kurul ona-yÖnÖn makalenin Materyal ve Metod Bö-lümünde belirtilmesi gereklidir. 3. .Eþer makalede daha önce yayÖmlanmÖĹ;
alÖntÖ yazÖ, tablo, resim vs. mevcut ise makale yazarÖ, yayÖn hakkÖ sahibi ve ya-zarlarÖndan yazÖlÖ izin almak ve bunu makalede belirtmek zorundadÖr.
4. Farmösötik ürünler jenerik veya ticari isimleri ile belirtilebilir. Ticari isimler bü-yük harf ile yazÖlmalÖ, ismin arkasÖndan üretici firma adÖ ve Ĺehir/ülke bilgisi pa-rantez içerisinde yazÖlmalÖdÖr.
5. Tüm yazarlarÖn bilimsel makalenin hazÖrlanmasÖnda katkÖ sahibi olmasÖ ge-reklidir. Sorumlu yazar, araĹtÖrmacÖlar arasÖnda çÖkar çatÖĹmasÖ bulunmadÖþÖnÖ beyan etmekle yükümlüdür. AraĹtÖrma-lara yapÖlan her türlü destek, bu desteþi saþlayan kiĹi/ Kurum/ KuruluĹ/ Ticari FirmalarÖn isimleri açÖk olarak yazÖlmak suretiyle “TeĹekkür” Bölümünde belir-tilmelidir.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1. The Journal of the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University accepts papers in the following categories: original research, invited papers, case reports, concise reports, letters to the editor, and historical fragments on general, internal, and surgical medicine and medical education. The submissions must be original, scientifically high quality, and of a citable standard.
2. Our Journal is published quarterly per annum.
3. The abstracts for posters or presentations of scientific organizations recognized by the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University may be published as a supplement of the journal issue.
4. Contributions sent to the Journal should not have been published or sent for consideration elsewhere. The views and results stated in the submissions belong to the author. Papers that were previously presented in a convention, and abstracts which were published may be accepted with the author’s acknowledgment. Authors who would like to withdraw their submissions should send a letter regarding their withdrawal request containing their reasons. The editorial board assumes that the authors of works submitted to the Journal of the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University have accepted to abide by this condition. 5. The publishing rights of the accepted
submissions belong to The Journal of the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University. There is no payment for the submissions to the journal.
6. The submissions should be in English or Turkish. The submissions in Turkish should be written in accordance with the Turkish Dictionary the New Style Guide of the Turkish Language Institute (www.tdk.gov.tr). The submissions in English are evaluated as to the use of language and style by the English language editor before sent out for review. The submissions that are found insufficient regarding the use of language are sent back to the author for revision, or for a translation into Turkish.
THE STYLE GUIDE
1. The content of submissions should be constructed in accordance with the “Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals” published by the International Committee of Medical Journals Editors revised in December 2014. Please visit www.icmje.org for these requirements.
2. It is the authors’ responsibility to prepare their manuscript in accordance with research and publications ethics. The approval of the Ethics Committee for the
(human/animal) experiments required for the research should be stated in the Material and Method section of the submission.
3. If the article consists of previously published material cited from other authors’ work such as quoted passages, tables, pictures, etc., the author needs to obtain the copyright for these materials as well as the author’s permission to reproduce the original material, and state these in the article.
4. Pharmaceutical products may be referred to by their generic or trade names. Trade names should be capitalized and followed by the name of the producing company, with the city/country of the company in brackets.

Published manuscripts or manuscripts accepted for publication may be referred to provided that their DOI numbers are stated.
The References should be compiled according to their sequence in the manuscript [Vancouver System (Sequential numbering system)], and the reference numbers should be given in brackets in the relevant sentence before the punctuation. Abstract in Turkish and Keywords
The abstract consisting of max. 300 words should be written in accordance with the following structure:

- Conclusion
- Keywords (between 3 and 5 words).
Abstract in English and Keywords
The English abstract should be written in such a way that it corresponds to the Turkish abstract exactly. The abstract in English should consist of max. 500 words, and include the following parts:
- Aim
- Material and Methods - Results
- Conclusion
- Keywords (between 3 and 5 words, corresponding to those in the Turkish abstract)
Introduction
Introduction should provide an outline and state the aim(s) of the research.
Material and Methods
The material and methods used in the study should be explained in detail in this section. In the case of the known/existing methods employed in the research, sources relevant to the method should be included. In the case of recently developed/modified methods, sources should be defined in detail. The approval of the Ethics Committee for the (human/animal) experiments required for the research should be stated in this section, and the statistical methods should be explained briefly.
Results
The results obtained from the study should be presented in detail and within a logical order, supported by figures, tables, and charts. Unless required, the results presented in figure(s)/table(s)/chart(s) should not be repeated in the body of the text.
Discussion
The results of the study should be explained and supported by national and international sources. A concluding paragraph summarizing the results and inferences of the study should be added to the end of this section.
Acknowledgments
All the support given to the research by individuals/institutions/organizations/co mpanies should be openly stated in this section.
References
References should be presented in accordance with the style for references, listing 40 sources at the most.
Concise Report or Technical Report
Concise or Technical Reports should be organized in such a way that they include all of the sections of an original article, and should not exceed 2,000 words. The number of references should be limited to 20.
Case Report
Case Reports should include the following: Title page, Abstract in Turkish and
Keywords, Abstract in English and Keywords, Introduction, Case Report, Discussion, Acknowledgments and References. Case Reports should not exceed 1,500 words. The number of references should be limited to 20.
Invited Paper
Invited Papers should not be written by more than three authors. They should include the following: Title page, Abstract in Turkish and Keywords, Abstract in English and Keywords, Introduction, Text with appropriate subheadings, Acknowledgments and References. The number of references should not be more than 100.
Letter to the Editor
A letter to the editor seeks to offer a contribution or criticism to an already published work, and therefore it should not include an abstract. It should be brief and to the point, and should not exceed 1,000 words. The number of references should be limited to 10.
