A seven-year-old boy was admitted to Marmara University Hospital for the evaluation of not to be able to gain weight. His physical examination and laboratory findings were unremarkable. PPD was negative.
Chest X ray of the patient revealed bilateral diffuse reticulonodular infiltration. Flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy was performed. No abnormal finding was detected. Cytologic examination of bronchoalveolar lavage was negative. The following micrograph was prepared from his open lung biopsy specimen.
What is the most likely diagnosis of this patient?
