İslâm dini temerküzü (servetin belli ellerde toplanmasını) reddeder.
Bunun yerine infak (harcama) temelli bir toplumsal ve ekonomik yapı kurgular. Bu yapı bireylerin kendi iradeleriyle gerçekleştirdikleri ibadet ve görevlerle kurgulanır. İnfak temelli toplumun yapı taşlarından birisi de keffâretlerdir. Zekât, kurban, fıtır sadakası ve sadaka-i cariye uygulamalarının yanı sıra keffâretler de infak temelli bir toplumsal ve ekonomik yapının ortaya çıkmasında çok önemli bir rol üstlenmektedir. Keffâret, Allah’ın emrettiği bir ibadetin terki, ibadet esnasında bir yasağın çiğnenmesi, kasten veya bilmeyerek bir haramın işlenmesi sonucu bir yükümlülük olarak ortaya çıkar. Bir köle azad etmek, belli sayıda fakiri doyurmak ve giydirmek gibi yollarla bu yükümlülüğün yerine getirilmesi aynı zamanda sosyo-ekonomik neticeleri de ortaya çıkarır. Müslümanlar keffâret görevini yerine getirirken bir yandan işledikleri günahları affettirmek, manevî açıdan temizlenmek ve uhrevî cezâdan kurtulabilmek için hareket ederlerken, diğer yandan toplumsal bir faydaya da aracılık ederler.
Keffâret sorumluluğunun yaygın olarak fakirleri doyurma ve onları giydirme yoluyla ifâ edilmesi halinde dar gelirlilerin harcama gücü artacak, piyasada mal ve hizmetlere olan talep canlanacak, bu da ekonomik kalkınmaya önemli bir katkı sağlayacaktır. Böyle bir gelişme ise barış, kardeşlik, dayanışma, yardımlaşma gibi güzel davranışların yaşandığı örnek bir toplumun inşası için uygun bir zemin hazırlayacaktır. Bu makalede keffâretlerin yerine getirilmesiyle ortaya çıkacak sosyo-ekonomik neticeler üzerinde durulacaktır.
