Many Met performances are heavily subscribed. The best seats available on a single ticket basis are Non-Subscription performances. Non-Subscription dates are shaded red in the calendar and should b e ordered by mail. Your Part I order form is on the back page o f this calendar. Your first opportunity to buy single performance tickets is by mail. The season is divided into two parts for ordering by mail. Follow the ordering guidelines below for the perfor m ances you want.

Mail orders for performances Septem ber 21-January 2, plus all Non-Subscription perfor mances. This includes the four special Non-Subscription dates: the new production pre mieres o f Das Rhein gold (Oct. 9), and S iegfried (Feb. 12) as well as the Margaret Price (Nov 1) and Marilyn Horne (Jan. 10) recitals. Use the Part 1 coupon in the back of this brochure. Orders are accepted now.

Mail orders for performances January 4-April 16.
A Part II coupon and an updated calendar w ill be sent to you in O ctober for ordering performances in the second half o f the season. Orders for Part II will b e accepted beginning November 12.

1. First choice dates must b e within the Part I period when you use the Part I form. Sec ond choice dates may be in Part II period.
2. Choose from the available prices listed on this calendar under each performance. Per form ances marked f indicate a Quartet or Trio date that may have very lim ited single ticket availability.
3. Choose alternate dates and prices, especially the large side and rear Orchestra sec tions, to increase the probability o f receiving the perform ances you request. All mail orders are filled with full-view seats unless otherw ise requested.
4. Tickets w ill be m ailed out in order o f earliest perform ance date. You w ill receive a response to your order at least four w eeks before the earliest performance date. 5. There are no refunds or exchanges o f mail order tickets.
