Bu dersin amacı öğrencilerin, sağlık araştırmalarında bir yöntem bilimi olarak epidemiyoloji, temel epidemiyolojik araştırma tasarımları, bunların kullanım alanları ve temel veri kaynakları ile araştırma planlamanın temel prensipleri konularında bilgi kazanmalarını sağlamaktır. Bu kapsamda araştırma ilkelerinden başlayarak, araştırmanın planlanması, uygulanması ve sonuçlandırılarak yorumlanmasına kadar tüm araştırmayı yürütme becerisi kazanır.

Bu dersin amacı çevre ve çevre sağlığı ile ilgili tanımları ve çevre sağlığının prensiplerini, çevre sağlık ilişkisini, önemli çevre sağlığı sorunlarının (su-hava- toprak kirliliği-atıklar) nedenlerini, kaynaklarını, önemini ve alınması gereken önlemleri öğretmektir. Environmental health lectures aim to teach environment and health relationship, basic concepts and main subjects of environmental health (water, air, soil pollution and waste) and to help in solving environmental health problems in the field. Bu dersin amacı öğrencilerin toplum beslenmesi ile ilgili temel bilgileri ve dinamikleri bilmeleri ve sorunların çözümü için toplumda birincil, ikincil üçüncül koruma yaklaşımlarını da dikkate alan öneriler geliştirebilmeleridir. Toplumda beslenme sorunlarını saptamak için yöntemleri ve çözümlerini öğrenir.

Besin güvenliği ve HACCP uygulamalarını öğrenerek besinlerin sağlıklı bir biçimde nasıl ulaştırılacağını kavrar.
