4.1 Score calculation for journal articles: Each article is assigned three weights, namely article category, journal category, and author order. The total category score of an article is obtained by multiplying the assigned three weights (C × J × A).

Equal authorship Applicants who claim equal authorship should provide a copy of the article containing confirmation of equal contribution.

1. Regarding equal contribution of two authors, 90% of theranking weight for author order is assigned to both authors. If the article was published on a journal with an IF≥6 or a rank ≤10.00%, 100% of the ranking weight is assigned to each author.

2. Regarding equal contribution of three or four authors, 60% of the ranking weight for author order is assigned to each author. If the article was published on a journal with an IF ≥ 10, 100% of the ranking weight is assigned to each author.

3. Regarding equal contribution of five or more authors, 30% of the ranking weight for author order is assigned to each author. If the article was published in a journal with an IF≥20, 100% of the ranking weight is assigned to each author.

4. Authors of equal contribution are considered to be of the same importance as the first author. The weights for subsequent authors are assigned based on their actual order among all authors; if the assigned weight is lower than 0.5, A = 0.5 will be used for calculation.

Patents for the same invention in multiple countries are deemed to be one patent; the applicant may select the one with the highest score for calculation. Refinement of an invention is not regarded as another patent. For an invention with both a patent and technology transfer, only the category with the higher weight is selected; the invention may not be counted twice.

The score for a patent is equally divided by the number of inventors; the technology transfer score is multiplied by the different weights listed in this table based on each individual’s contribution.

Calculation of technology transfer fees is based on the actual amount received. For a patent or technology transfer, the total accumulated amount is used for calculation.

The amount generated not from technology transfer (e.g., early-stage technology transfer fee for a research project) is excluded from calculation for the listed technology transfer category.
