Educational Reform Project Guidelines

This project aims to help you to critically analyse ONE of the educational policies in your country and suggest new ways of designing and implementing it. This project is designed as a group work. You will find the steps that you need to follow to successfully complete this project below. Please follow the steps carefully and contact your lecturer if you have further questions.

1. Form groups of maximum 4 and discuss educational policies in your country. Decide on one policy that is controversial and describe how/why it needs change. Fill in Form A – Tentative Proposal. This should not be more than one page.

2. Outline the steps needed to make this policy change. Fill in Form B – Outline for Reform. Remember that you will need to add references to this form. This should not exceed two pages (without the references).

3. Prepare a report of the reform that you are proposing using the Project Template. Expand the ideas you outlined in Form B and explain in detail why this reform is necessary and how it can be implemented in the best way. Make sure that you include ALL the references you used in your work. This should not be more than 5 pages (without the references). Use Times New Roman or Calibri and font size 12. The text should be 1.5 spaced and justified.

4. Prepare a presentation with your group to explain the details of your proposed educational reform to the class. This presentation should be maximum 15 minutes and ALL group members should take part. You should prepare a Power Point presentation. You can use other supporting materials if needed.

1. Write down the title of your proposed reform. Explain why it needs to be changed in detail. Give your reasons carefully. You can use published research studies, newspaper articles and books to support your arguments.

2. What needs to be done to realise this change? Show your plan in steps.

3. Who needs to be informed? What do stakeholders (groups of people who will be affected by this change) need to know to successfully implement this policy? Do they need any training? If yes, how will you train them?

4. How much time do you need to realise this policy?

5. What sort of support (financial/material/training, etc.) do you need to implement this policy? 6. List the references you used for your research.
