The Third International Summer School on Cardiac

Arrhythmias is over now

Üçüncü Uluslararas› Kardiyak Aritmiler Yaz Okulu’nun ard›ndan

Dear Editor,

The Third International Summer School on Cardiac Arrhythmias, which was organized by Eskiflehir Osmangazi University in Anemon Hotel between 9-12 September 2005, is over.

It has become customary to organize summer schools in Eskiflehir, which has been initiated by Prof.Dr.Bilgin Timuralp 20 years ago. It is a great honour for us continuing this scienti-fic tradition for many years. We are very happy, because some of the delegates of the past summer schools took active role as speaker, chairman, panelist and operator in summer school 2005.

The 3rd International Summer School on Cardiac Arrhyth-mias was the last (but not the final) summer school focused on cardiac arrhythmias. The previous ones were in 1996 and in 2001. The third summer school on arrhythmia was different from the previous ones, as it was organized jointly with renow-ned international and national institutions, including Internati-onal Society of Electrocardiology, European Cardiac

Arrhyth-mia Society, Utrecht University, Maastricht University, TUB‹-TAK and Turkish Society of Cardiology; Working Group on Pa-cing, Arrhythmias and Electrophysiology. The summer school was accredited by European Heart Rhythm Association (EH-RA), a registrated branch of European Society of Cardiology.

Following interactive symposia, expert electrophysiolo-gists from the above institutions did case practices during four days. More 300 participants attended, 25 cardiologists from out side of Turkey and almost 40 cardiologists from Turkey were in the scientific program as speaker, panelist, chairman and ope-rator.

I wish to thank faculty, delegates and sponsor companies. Looking forward to meet in “The 4th International Summer School on Cardiac Arrhythmias, in 2008.

Kind regards.
