Low-protein diet supplemented formula on the effect of chronic renal failure patients

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the low-protein formula products in clinical application in patients with chronic renal failure.

Patients with renal failure subjects; clinical planning time for four weeks, after the subjects received a low protein diet: body weight in patients with a significant increase from the 62.4 kg to 63.1 kg; body mass index from the 24.6 kg / m 2 significantly increased to 24.8 kg / m 2 (p <0.05), showed that patients in good nutrition. And serum albumin, prealbumin, transferrin and hemoglobin showed a clear increase (p <0.05), the patient's nutritional status has improved. In kidney function: serum urea nitrogen in a significant decrease from the 46.1mg/dL to 39.2mg/dL, the blood of creatinine is also obvious from the 3.6mg/dL fell to 2.2 mg / dL; and 24-hour creatinine clearance rate also increased significantly (p <0.05), all subjects of renal dysfunction that significantly easing the situation. Dietary survey found that: the total daily caloric intake in patients with a significant increase, while the protein intake significantly reduced in patients with chronic renal failure has been very consistent with the

principles of diet. All subjects consumed a low protein formula during the no nausea, vomiting, constipation and other side effects and symptoms. In other biochemical parameters: the blood sugar, blood lipids, liver function and electrolyte changes before and after the diet intervention, no statistical differences that eating low- protein formula with no adverse side effects. Therefore, the low- protein formula can be applied to the diet of patients with chronic renal failure, contribute to the damage of renal function and

promote the maintenance of nutritional status.
