NEWS THE OLDEST CIVILIZATION DISPLAYED
WITH THE YOUNGEST GENERATION
RANKED 37TH IN THE UNIVERSITY RANKING
Estimated to be 3 thousand years older than Göbeklitepe, one of the archaeological discoveries that can cause the world history to be rewritten with its approximately 12 thousand years old history, Karahantepe is brought to the screen with the new generation.
Karahantepe, which was discovered after Göbeklitepe, which is shown as one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world, continues to attract attention. It is stated that the area where archaeological excavations continue may be 3,000 years older than Göbeklitepe.
The ‘Emerging Europe and Central Asia Ranking 2022 (Europe & Central Asia EECA) report published annually by the world’s respected higher education rating agency QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) has been published.
“37TH IN RANKING”
The QS EECA 2022 report has been published. Among the universities ranked according to criteria such as academic reputation, the number of citations per article and papers per faculty, Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) has been ranked 37th according to the ‘Cited Per Article’ criterion.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TAKING DIRECTOR’S CHAIR FOR
“CHILDREN’S RIGHTS”
PLANNING ESKİŞEHIR IN THE 1930S” EXHIBITION OPENED
Film and law students and high school students come together for the
“Children’s Rights and Cinema Workshop”, held in cooperation with universities and high schools. In the workshop, which will start on December 23, high school students will shoot films about children’s rights.
THEY WILL TAKE MENTOR TRAINING FIRST
The “Children’s Rights and Cinema Workshop” will be held in cooperation with Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law of a private university. In the workshop, which will start on December 23, students from the relevant departments of both universities will be given mentoring training on the subject. After the training organized to raise awareness of children’s rights and to raise awareness of young people, university students will hold workshops at the state high schools determined in February 2022. As the output of the workshops, high school students will be asked to produce a one- minute film on children’s rights with their mobile phones. The implementation work will be done under the supervision of mentor students. The first workshop will be held in February 2022, the second will be held in May 2022. After the completed workshops, both mentor students and participating high school students will be given certificates at a ceremony.
The exhibition “Planning Eskişehir in the 1930s: The Unknown Contribution of the French Planner J.H. Lambert” meets with art lovers at the City Museums Complex Exhibition Hall on 10 December.
Yonca Güneş Yücel from Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Social Work is the content editor of the exhibition, which has been created by taking action from the plan studies of the architect/designer Lambert who planned Eskişehir.

THE FESTIVAL TO PAVE THE WAY FOR THE SHORT FILM INDUSTRY STARTS
The launch of Tayf International Short Film Festival was held with the participation of masters. Organized by Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts, the festival aims to increase the visibility of short films, which are the building blocks of the art of cinema, by encouraging art lovers.
The launch of Tayf International Short Film Festival, which is open to all international and national participants, was held at Üsküdar Municipality Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center with Festival Director Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, Festival Director Nagihan Çakar Bikiç, Festival Coordinator Emre Doğan and Festival Media and Communications Coordinator Saygı Ünlü. At the festival organized by Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts, a total of twelve awards in four different categories will be given, and a film determined by the jury will be awarded the “Digital Film Academy Special Award”. The festival, whose jury includes master filmmakers and actors such as Derviş Zaim, Ercan Kesal, Bade İşil and Yüksel Aksu, will be held for the first time this year.
