SPORTS DAY - SPOR GÜNÜ
P
laying sports reveals many positive personality traits in children such as tolerance, good communication, respect, self-knowledge, learning to setgoals, gaining time management and the ability to struggle with difficulties, and learning teamwork.
Children have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities freely and realistically in the sports environment. Students even learn to be constructive and to be a member of a team. Thanks to sports, students learn about "belonging to a group", which contributes to socialization, they also learn to obey the rules and values of the group, and this then contributes to the child's sense of responsibility.
In light of this, we as Dr. Suat Günsel Girne College, organized a "Sports Day" for our students. We are very proud of the success of our students who competed in areas such as skipping, sponge pass with water, football bouncing game, ping pong ball

VISIT TO KYRENIA ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRE HAYVAN BARINA I Z YARET
Year 9 students visited Kyrenia Animal Rescue Centre as part of the 4th October World Animal Day. Donations made by our students were given to officials at the centre.
Students received information regarding the rescue centre by officials there who all work voluntarily.
During the visit students toured the centre and spent time getting to know the animals.
During this visit, the students took a strong step towards animal love and responsibility, while increasing their emotional and social awareness.

nce 2004, October 1-31 has been des gnated as Breast Cancer Awareness month by the World Health Organ zat on n order to emphas ze the mportance of early d agnos s n breast cancer and breast cancer awareness.As Dr. Suat Günsel G rne College, we organ zed var ous events w th our p nk clothes and r bbons to draw attent on to early d agnos s n breast cancer and to rem nd once aga n that we are strong, not cancer. Dr. Suat Günsel College, we organized a ceremony at school to celebrate the 98th anniversary of the Turkish Republic gifted to us by the architect of our future, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Our ceremony program began with a minutes silence followed by the National Anthem. Year 9 students Kutay Özku and Aisana Asanaliyeva spoke of the meaning and importance of the day, followed by Mert Ya c of year 9 reciting the poem "Today". Our ceremony program ended after our school choir performed the anthem called "The Tenth Anniversary March". As, Dr.
Suat Günsel College, we are proud to celebrate the 29th October Turkish Republic Day.

In order to understand and remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk the founder of the modern Turk sh Republ c, a commemorat on ceremony was held n the garden of our school to commemerate the 83rd ann versary of h s pass ng away. Leman Kasap, of 8G, rec ted the poem "Last Letter from Atatürk". Sarp Haydar of 7G and Mel s Nurel of 9G gave a speech about the mean ng and
mportance of the day. Our ceremony came to an end w th the song "We are on the Footsteps of My Father" performed by our school cho r.
After long years of struggle, we celebrated w th enthus asm the 38th ann versary of our Republ c, wh ch was establ shed on November 15th, 1983. In our ceremony, Sel n Apayd n and Sarp Asan, students of 8G, gave a speech about the mean ng and

Compet t ons were held by var ous departments, Poster Des gn by the Art department, and Brochure Des gn by the Turk sh Department. Our Psychology department created an Empathy Tree were all students wrote notes regard ng bully ng and placed them on the tree. The Psychology Department also organ sed a K nd Words Cha n and a Random Act of K ndness board. An Odd Socks event was organ zed n order to develop a sense of awareness towards d fferences. W th the
theme for th s year One K nd word a short f lm was taken of part c pat ng students.
The Ant -Bully ng week ended w th Blue Fr day, teachers and students wore the colour blue to school. Some students sold blue wr stbands of the r own des gn to ra se money for those n need.
