Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School, which started its education life in 2008, started to publish a monthly E-Bulletin as of 2021. We are very happy to bring you the february issue of our e-bulletin and to share with you the developments in our Vocational School. Murat TAŞ was appointed as the Head of the Computer Usage Department of Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School as of 10.02.2021. • Lect. Seren KAYA has been appointed as the Head of the Logistics Program of Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School as of 11.02.2021.• Lect. Istanbul Gelisim University, Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School, Electronics and Automation Department, Mechatronics Program held a talk titled “Digital Transformation in Pneumatic Systems” on Thursday, February 18, 2021 between 13.30 and 15.30.

Hidayet YILDIZ, a lecturer in the Department of Banking and Insurance, has been accepted as an expert in the field of Financial Services. Hidayet YILDIZ is included in the 2021 list with the registration number 34/29 within the scope of the Consumer Arbitration Committees Expertise Regulation.

Master’s Thesis Project with the ID number 2364 titled “Investigation of Electromagnetic and Electrical Properties of Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite Materials” prepared by Nihal GÜL, lecturer from Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School, Aircraft Technology Program, together with her advisor at Kocaeli University, was accepted by Kocaeli University SRP commission and decided to support it.

Paper titled “Evaluation of the Work Accidents and Life Loss in the Result of Accidents in all Occupational Sectors in Turkey for 2018 in Terms of Sufferer Age” prepared by Asst. IGVS, Head of Food Processing Department, Food Engineer msc Lecturer Kübra SAĞLAM, moderated the talk on “Being a Food Engineer in Europe” organized by the Association of Food Engineers on Saturday, February 13, 2021. Food Engineer msc Harun SİMSEK, published 5 books in the field of food in Turkey and living in Germany, has been the guest. In the conversation, the possibilities of being a food engineer abroad, the situation and differences of the food sector in European countries were discussed and the questions of the audience were answered. The results of the study conducted by IGVS, Head of Food Processing Department, Food Engineer msc Lecturer Kübra SAĞLAM were published in the last issue (36th issue) of the journal “Food Safety in Ordu”. The importance of food scientists, who are the source of correct information for consumers, is emphasized in the study where “The Effect of Information Pollution Related to Food in Written, Visual and Social Media on Food Preference of the People “is examined. Recommendations were shared with consumers in the publication based on the issue of food safety and awareness, which gained more importance during the pandemic process.

IGVS, Head of Food Processing Department, Food Engineer msc, Lecturer Kübra SAĞLAM took part as an instructor on “Food Safety and Hygiene” on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at MYK Gastro Arena which a new gastronomy platform that establish from Celebrity Chef Mehmet Yalcinkaya, one of moderator of Master Chef Turkey.

IGVS, Department of Food Processing, Food Technology Program, Lecturer Nurullah Zekeriya AKAR ‘s writing on “Online Food Shopping in Epidemic Process in Turkey” is published on IGVS Food Technology Program Web page. In the evaluation made according to the data of TSI, it was determined that consumers who order or buy goods or services on the internet made the most food shopping with 61.5%. Under the coordination of lecturer Enes ÖZEN from IGVS, Department of Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies, the village schools were contacted and an online course was held in order to motivate them and raise awareness of the profession with children who have no knowledge of that what is a plane, how does it fly, etc. In the lesson held within the scope of the Social Responsibility Project, our student Emirhan Aldemir shared his work on airplanes with the students of Adıyaman Gölbaşı Savran Primary School. International Mehmet Başbuğ Art Research Symposium and presented his paper titled “Investigation of the Use of Illustration in the Ministry of National Education Secondary Science Books and Recommendations”. The study will be published as a full text in the proceedings book.

IGVS, Head of Design Department Assist. Prof.Dr. Mustafa GÜNAY’s abstract digital illustration work entitled “PLANET” was selected by the jury and exhibited in the III. International Mehmet Başbuğ Art Research Symposium between 20-21 February 2021. The work will be published in the symposium proceedings book.
The article titled “DESIGN IN VISUAL COMMUNICATION” by Assist.Prof. Dr. Mustafa GÜNAY, Head of Design Department at IGVS, was accepted by the internationally indexed refereed Art and Design Review Journal which publishing abroad.
