We are delighted to share the 34th issue of the Journal of Modern Turkish History Studies with the academia. As in our previous issues, in this issue we also have included valuable scientific studies. Each study has reached the publication stage through a blind review process after evaluated by at least two referees. Among the works on this issue, there are articles about the last phase of the Ottoman Empire, the days of the Turkish War of Independence as well as the political, diplomatic, economic and social life of the Republic of Turkey.

I would like to thank to my colleagues, the referees for this issue, and to those who have contributed to the publication process. I wish enjoyable reading to our readers.
