THE PRESENCE OF GAMMA IRRADIATION

It is known that use of various preparations concerns to priority directions of plant growing with the purpose of increasing their stability to various stressful factors, including radiation. The greatest interest is represented by those which combine in themselves property to stimulate intensity of growing processes and raising productivity of plants simultaneously to render protective effect on the plant organism.

The role o f biometals in development of living organisms is very great. The primary task o f the investigation was studying influence o f y-irradiation on an output o f chromosomal aberrations at anaphase cells root fibrils of wheat plantlets at use o f complexes - rutinate and juglonate o f iron with the purpose of revealing their radioprotective properties.

Seeds of a drought-resistant sort of hard-T riticum durum wheat were taken as the object o f the research. Before irradiation seeds have been preliminary processed with rutinate and juglonate o f iron. Concentration o f solutions was 0.01 %. After irradiation seeds were cultivated on a damp filtering paper in Petri dishes at 26°C.

Structural changes in chromosomes were defined in initial and final stages of anaphase. Gamma irradiation on the seeds of the wheat at 30 and 60 Gy caused sharp increase in number o f chromosomal aberrations in comparison with the control. Processing by solutions o f rutinate and juglonate o f iron before irradiation has led to significant decrease (accordingly 48 and 52% ) o f

chromosomal aberrations in comparison with irradiated control.

Applied iron complexes o f routine and juglon noticeably reduce damaging action o f y-irradiation, positively influence on mitotic division o f root fibril cells, reducing number o f chromosomal aberrations.
