Lipoprotein a değerlerinde de gruplar arası farklılık belirlenememiştir
Sonuç olarak farelerde yürütülen bu çalışmada esansiyel yağ asiti kaynağı olarak balık yağı kullanılmasının kan lipid profiline düzenleyici etkileri olabildiği kanısına varılmıştır.
7. SUMMARY
EVALUATION OF THE OMEGA 3 FATTY ACID AND OLIVE OIL SUPPLEMENTS ON LIPID METABOLISM OF MICE.
In this study, the effects of omega 3- fatty acid (Menhaden fish oil, 1% ) and omega 6, omega 9 fatty acid (olive oil, 5%) supplementation into diets of rats on plasma total cholesterol, HDL and LDL cholesterol, lipoprotein a and triglyceride levels were investigated.
In this trial, a total of 90 Swiss Albino male mice which have 6 months age, in equal of body weight were used. During the experiment, these animals fed with standart ration as ad libitum. Animals were housed in S.Ü. Veterinary Faculty Experimental Animals Unit. Experimental period was lasted at 60. day. There were three experimental groups in this study as following;
1. Control, 2. Fish oil (Menhaden) group, 3. Fish oil plus olive oil group
At the end of the experiment, blood samples were taken by cardiac puncture and, plasma total cholesterol, HDL-LDL cholesterol, triglyceride and lipoprotein a concentrations of mice were determined.
Supplementation of fish oil and olive oil into rat diets made significant differences in lipid parameters, also HDL cholesterol levels were increased in fish oil group and LDL cholesterol was lower than the control group. Moreover, there were also found these decrease in total cholesterol, triglyceride and LDL levels of fish oil group. Otherwise, there was no any improving on lipid profiles of fish oil plus olive oil grup (3. group).
As a result, the findings of the present study on mice suggest that blood lipid profile were improved by fish oil as an omega fatty acid source.
