2.4.1 SPİNAL KORD YARALANMASINDA NÖROPATİK AĞRI TEDAVİSİ 1 Farmakolojik tedaviler

O sagüi (Callithrix jacchus) é utilizado como modelo experimental em pesquisas no Programa de pós-graduação em Psicobiologia da UFRN, desde a sua implantação em 1985 e no Laboratório de Neuranatomia desde 1993, quando tiveram início as pesquisas sobre as bases neurais da ritmicidade circadiana.

Nos últimos dois anos, desenvolveram-se três trabalhos de pós graduação no nível de mestrado no Laboratório de Neuranatomia da UFRN utilizando o sagüi como sujeito experimental. Um deles trata da caracterização neuroquímica e expressão de fos no núcleo pré-geniculado. Outro trabalho é focado na citoarquitetura e caracterização neuroquímica da zona incerta e, por último, a nossa dissertação, que tem como objetivo caracterizar a citoarquitetura e neuroquímica das estações rombencefálicas da via auditiva. Deve ser destacado que este é o primeiro trabalho a estudar os centros auditivos nesse modelo experimental neste laboratório, buscando reconhecer diversos neurotransmissores e substâncias neuroativas como as proteínas ligantes de cálcio e a proteína nuclear neurônio- específica (NeuN), dando inicio aos estudos envolvendo o sistema auditivo nessa base de pesquisa. A partir da análise dos resultados, uma aparente relação foi encontrada entre as estações auditivas rombemcefálicas e outras espécies previamente estudadas, registrando-se variações quanto a citoarquitetura e organização neuroquímica. Em paralelo foi desenvolvido um trabalho caracterizando os centros de vocalização corticais no sagüi nessa mesma pós- graduação, em outro laboratório.

Este trabalho representa um instrumento essencial para estabelecer o sagüi como modelo experimental para pesquisas envolvendo o sistema auditivo. Além disso, os resultados discutidos aqui oferecem uma possibilidade de compreender os aspectos funcionais e permitem inferências quanto a etiologia de patologias auditivas como decorrências de alterações no mecanismo funcional das substâncias estudadas entre diversas espécies de mamíferos, sejam eles roedores, marsupiais ou primatas não-humanos e humanos. Assim, observamos claramente que existe uma relação direta entre estrutura e função auditiva e que estudos funcionais podem e devem ser posteriormente realizados, visando confirmar as possibilidades propostas nesse estudo e esclarecer um pouco mais sobre esse tão complexo sistema que é responsável por possibilitar a comunicação entre seves vivos através da onda sonora.

Este trabalho representa o início de uma linha de pesquisa voltada para o estudo dos centros auditivos no sagüi e outras espécies, no sentido de contribuir para melhorar a compreesão dos mecanismos auditivos. Sendo assim, a continuidade deste estudo pode ocorrer a partir de um leque de possibilidades:

8.1. Estudo anatômico dos centros auditivos subcorticais do sagüi, incluindo os núcleos do colículo inferior (mesencéfalo) e geniculado medial (tálamo);

8.2. Estudo funcional das estações auditivas subcorticais do sagüi, observando a expressão de c-fos após estímulo de vocalização de co-específico;

8.3. Estudo do órgão coclear do sagüi;

8.4. Estudo hodológico dos centros auditivos subcorticais do sagüi; 8.5. Estudos comparativos, incluindo um roedor regional crepuscular, o mocó (Kerodon rupestris);

8.6. Estudo de desenvolvimento das estações auditivas subcorticais do sagüi, utilizando animais de diferentes idades;

8.7. Contribuir com o Projeto Atlas do sagüi através do mapeamento de sua via auditiva central.
