De acordo com a prosposta deste estudo, conclui-se que extratos, frações e diterpenos isolados inibem o crescimento de bactérias orais na forma planctônica. Os diterpenos, representados por ICB4 e ICB8, possuem ação antibiofilme, a qual foi detectada tanto na inibição da formação dos biofilmes, quanto sobre biofilmes pré-formados de bactérias orais. Em consequência dos dados obtidos, pode-se sugerir que extratos, frações ácidas e neutras e os diterpneos ICB4 e ICB8 podem ser possíveis agentes anticárie.

Os extratos, frações ácidas e neutras e diterpenos isolados podem ser testados com com biofilmes realcionados a infecções hospitalares, inclusive biofilmes mistos. Além disso, podem ser realizados testes de citotoxicidade, testes pré-clínicos e clínicos, a fim de que estas substâncias possam ser utilizadas como agente terapêutico.
