IP LibCMASS

IP LibCMASS aims to create interdisciplinary

educational program and learning environment in which to acquire the knowledge and skills relating to

the contemporary challenges of the management of libraries, museums, archives and information

technology centres.

The mission of the project is using a rich

methodological toolkit to implement a modern educational process aimed at implementation of interdisciplinary knowledge and skills relevant to the

new requirements in the career development of students in library and information and cultural sector and the policy response to higher education

and the EU initiative on "New skills for new jobs”.

LLP-ERASMUS) – Intensive Program Sofia, Bulgaria (04.09. – 17.09.2011)

The target group are students (BSc and MSc) in library and computer science,

information technology and cultural and historical heritage of SULSIT

(Sofia), Hacettepe University in Ankara (Turkey) and University of

Zagreb (Croatia).

The total number of students is 25,

teachers - 16.

Lections, workshops, seminars, presentations, individual assignments and Case Study in libraries and cultural institutions.

Interaction in national and international teams.

Guided Tours and Excursions

(Sofia City Tour, Rila Monastery, National Library “St. St. Ciryl and Methodius”, Boyana Church, National Historical Museum, City Library etc.)

Cultural Program

COMMUNICATION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Project management and communication teacher-student will be based on own website and e-learning platform ILIAS.

• Library, Information and Cultural Management;

• Preservation and access to cultural heritage. Digital libraries;

• Intellectual Property. Information brokerage;

• Information technologies in libraries,

archives, museums and other cultural

institutions. Information literacy.

• essay „Profile of the Modern Manager of Memory Institutions’

• individual expectations on the project; motivation

• study grades and credits

• good to excellent English language skills (certificate?)

• EU project experience (ERASMUS etc.)

• personal data sheet (curriculum vitae with contact information)

• study level (bachelor, master)

• valid student ID

In 2011 IP LibCMASS will be in SULSIT, Sofia;

2012 in University of Zagreb and 2013 in Hasettepe University, Ankara.

This sustainability of the project concept ensures a stable international and

interdisciplinary network in higher education in library and information

sciences, computer sciences and cultural heritage sciences and to promote

cooperation between academic education and practice – library, information and

cultural sector.
