Dear Colleagues,

We proudly present striking research articles, case reports and reviews in the last issue of Viral Hepatitis Journal in 2015. Our journal is currently registered in Turkish Citation Index, and also applied to ESCI and PubMed Central, which are new indexing processes of Web of Science. We are also glad to accept submissions of international manuscripts and citations.

This issue starts with a review by Gürkan and Altındiş, “Animal Models for Hepatitis C Infection Studies”, which is a guide for studies targeting to evaluate the invitro and invivo antiviral efficiency and viral pathogenicity of Hepatitis C virus, and continues with a research article by Demir and Tekin, which is a detailed Hepatitis A prevalence study titled “Seroprevalence Rates of Hepatitis A Virus in Different Age Groups in the Province of Kırşehir and a Review of the Literature”, and another article by Demiray et al., titled “Cost of Unnecessary Repeat Requesting of Tests for HBsAg, Anti-HCV and Anti- HIV Screening in a University Hospital”, which presents the costs of repeated laboratory tests due to unnecessary requests.

“Assessment of Patients with Hepatitis D” article by Parlak et al. evaluates Hepatitis D, “Evaluation of the Efficacy of Tenofovir in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients Unresponsive to Lamivudine” by Çiftçi et al. evaluates Tenofovir efficiency, “The Distribution Clinical and Demographic Features of HBsAg Positive Patients in Şanlıurfa Region” by Uyanıkoğlu et al. evaluates the characteristics of HBsAg positive cases in Şanlıurfa region in detail, and

“Investigation of Hepatitis A, B and C Serology Among Civil Defense Workers and Comparison with the Normal Population” by Grassie et al. evaluates the Hepatitis A, B, and C in security personnel. Case reports are “Plasmapheresis in the Treatment of Acute Liver Failure: A Case Report and a Review of the Literature” by Ulu et al., and “Partial Splenic Embolization may be an Option to Overcome Thrombocytopenia Interfering with Triple Therapy in HCV (+) Cirrhotic Patients: A Case Report” by Asil et al.

And, a letter to the Editor was submitted by Afyon and Artuk, which titled

“Occult Hepatitis B Reactivation”, to current issue of our journal.
