Biography Biography
Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi Mimarlık Bölümü’nden 1987 yılında lisans, 1989 yılında Mimari Tasarım alanında yüksek lisans derecesi aldı. Paris X – Nanterre Üniversitesi’nden 1990 yılında Sosyoloji ve Kentsel Coğrafya alanında D.E.A. lisansüstü diplomasını, Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville ve Paris VIII Üniversitesi Institut Français d’Urbanisme “Mimarlık ve Kentsel Tasarım: Kuramlar ve Uygulamalar” lisansüstü programından 1993 yılında ikinci D.E.A. derecesini aldı. 1990-1996 arasında doktora araştırmalarını sürdürdüğü Paris X – Nanterre Üniversitesi’nden 1996 yılında Şehircilik (Urbanisme) alanında doktora derecesini aldı.
Cânâ Bilsel’in ulusal ve uluslararası dergi ve kitaplarda kent ve mimarlık alanında, kent ve şehircilik tarihi, kentsel tasarım, kamusal alan ve kent estetiği konularında yayınları bulunmaktadır. 2010 yılında Suna İnan Kıraç Vakfı İstanbul Araştırmaları Enstitüsü tarafından düzenlenen “İmparatorluk Başkentinden Cumhuriyet’in Modern Kentine: Henri Prost’un İstanbul Planlaması (1936-1951)” sergisinin küratörlüğünü yaptı.
2011 yılında ODTÜ’de Profesör olmasının ardından 2012-2015 yılları arasında Mersin Üniversitesi Mimarlık Fakültesi Dekanlığı görevinde bulundu. 2018'den bu yana ODTÜ Mimarlık Bölümü’nde Bölüm Başkanlığı görevini sürdürmekte ve mimari tasarım ve kentsel tasarım alanında kuram ve stüdyo dersleri vermektedir.
