Dear Colleagues,

This is the second issue of our journal. We are on our way with enthusiasm and determination. After the first issue, our journal has already been indexed in Turkmedline and 10 international indices. We completed our applications for our journal to be indexed in other national and international indices. We hope that our journal will also be indexed in new national and international indices in 2019. We thank you for your support by sending research articles and case presentations to our journal. We try to speed up our evalution process. For this reason, we use JAgent abstract application system.

Our authors in this issue are from different specialties, countries and cities. Palliative care is an important need nowadays. New palliative care centers are founded in our country and family physicians work in those centers.

Getting a good result in palliative care is only possible with a strong team work. In that issue of our journal, we present a review article which show the role of psychologists and their future vision.

The population of refugees is on a fast rise due to wars on earth, political turmoil and national disasters. We, as Turkey, host many refugees from Syria because of the ongoing war in that country. This tide of refugees remind us the important health issue of ' refugee health'. In one of the prominent articles in that issue, the authors deal with maternal and pediatric health care services of Syrian refugees in Kilis and present us striking evidence.

“Disabilities” as the result of chronic illnesses is an entity that affect patients' quality of life in a negative way and can be prevented by early protective interventions. Kabul and friends present an import article to the readers concerning predicting and preventing upper extremity disabilities due to rheumatoid artritis which is a prevalant rheumatologic disease in Turkey.

Another interesting article indicating that body fat composition can be estimated by easy andropometric measurements like abdominal circumference, height and weight in our daily practice by family physicians in an era in which chronic illnesses and obesity spread like endemic diseases

In addition to all these, we share a case presentation and the letter to the editor questioning whether Alma-ata Declaration in its 40th year has reached its goals. We also present a selection of oral presentations and thematic posters that were meticulously selected by the scientific committee of “Autumn School” which is an outstanding activity of Family Medicine arena.

We, as the family of The Anatolian Journal of Family Medicine, wish all our readers a worthwhile period until the next issue of our journal.

On behalf of editors,
