NOTES for Prospective Students

American Short Story is a course on mostly early American short story- 19

th

and early 20

th

century. I added Salinger, Roth and Carver just to give students a glimpse of the beautiful future of American short story. I wish I had more time and included more authors.

Portfolio Questions have been prepared to make you think about the most important aspects of the short stories.

Personally you can add up to those questions.

If you have time, you can read the works I shared the link of on the first week.

This online course was prepared on the request of Ankara University management. It may or may not reflect my live course as teaching is a dynamic process which changes depending on the response of the students.
