A 14 year old boy with ALL presented with fever and neutropenia after he received his last course of chemotherapy. After three weeks course of broad spectrum antibiotherapy, his fever came down although no focal infection was found during his course.
After three days of afebrile period he had a fever spike of 39.5 °C along with edema, erythema and pain on the dorsum of his left hand, where a peripheral intravenous line was removed the day before his new symptoms. (Fig 1) What is your diagnosis and the probable etiologic agent for this lesion?
