The proposed results have been received at execution of works on fastening of radioactively- contaminated surface soil layer and binding o f radionuclides by polymeric compositions- structureformers in soil complex taking into account structural-rheological properties of soils and soil-climatic features of the Azgir testing site located in arid zone.
A radionuclide contamination of ground and of day surface o f Azgir test locations is caused by such manifestations as:
- dynamical out - breaks of radioactive gases and products of chain reaction in the moment of the underground nuclear explosions;
- radioactive ejections from underground cavities after explosions;
- contamination of locations during the opening of cavities and a fulfilment o f technological operations o f different purposes;
- a removal of radioactive wastes in trenches in the location limits;
- local traces of atmospherical falls out from radioactive clouds, formed as a result of the Chernobyl Catastrophe (traces were revealed during aero-gamma-spectrometrical surveys, carried out in the beginning of 1990).
During the investigation of soil characteristics and a capacity o f soil particles to form conglomerates, possessing of different properties, including the property on retention o f radionuclides, it is necessary to know both an elemental and phaseous composition, determining, in the most extent, such physics-mechanical macro-characteristics as: a density, a stickness, an air - and water - penetration, a solubility, a chemical stability, a granulometrical row and others.
The Fifth Conference “ Nuclear Science and Its Application”, 14-17 October 2008
For a study of the problem of selective content of radionuclides in a composition o f soil conglomerates and particles of different sizes it was necessary to investigate the relative distribution of soil - forming particles on geometrical sizes in soil complexes.
