Biyografi Biyografi

Prof. Dr. Tanıl Kocagöz İzmir Saint Joseph Fransız Ortaokulu ve İstanbul Amerikan Robert Lisesini bitirdikten sonra 1985 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinden mezun oldu. Aynı fakültede Klinik Mikrobiyoloji ve Enfeksiyon

Hastalıkları uzmanlığı eğitimini tamamladı ve görevini öğretim üyesi olarak sürdürdü. Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, University of California San Francisco’da üç yıl süre ile bilimsel çalışmalar yaptı. Daha sonra yine Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Tıp Fakültesi Biyokimya Anabilim Dalından Doktora derecesini aldı. Bir süre Yeditepe Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Tıbbi Mikrobiyoloji A.D. başkanlığını yürüten Kocagöz, halen Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Tıbbi Mikrobiyoloji ve Medikal Biyoteknoloji A.D. başkanıdır. Akademik çalışmalarının yanısıra ülkemizde biyoteknolojinin gelişmesi için çaba göstermektedir. Yaptığı çalışmalar ile enfeksiyon hastalıklarının tanısı konusunda orijinal ürünler geliştirdi ve bunlara patent aldı. Türkiye’de üretilen ve birçok ülkede kullanılan bu ürünlerden tüberküloz tanısında kullanılan hızlı tüberküloz kültür sistemi Dünya Sağlık Örgütü öncülüğünde kurulan “Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics” tarafından desteklendi ve “Eurowards Türkiye” girişimcilik ödülünü kazandı. Araştırma ekibiyle geliştirmiş olduğu “İzlenebilir Elektroforez” sistemine Türk Teknoloji Geliştirme Vakfı “TTGV” tarafından “Akın Çakmakçı, Sanayi Ürününe Dönüşen Tez” ödülü verildi. Araştırmalarını enfeksiyon hastalıklarının hızlı tanısı ve antimikrobiyal ilaç geliştirme üzerinde yoğunlaştıran Prof. Dr. Tanıl Kocagöz’ün uluslararası hakemli dergilerde yayınlanmış çok sayıda bilimsel çalışması, ulusal ve uluslararası patentleri ve çeşitli bilimsel ödülleri bulunmaktadır. Özel ilgi alanları arasında astronomi yer almaktadır.
