activities for each lesson, creating and adapting materials, translating for parents and to support staff and planning literacy, numeracy and topic lessons for young learners. Working at ESK has given me a new perspective to teaching. As Teaching Assistants and Teachers, we group our students so all students in one group are at the same level for formal teaching sessions. After the group sessions, I would have one-to-one sessions with the children who are less able and have difficulties in learning, to recap on the concerned areas.

June to August 2012 and June to July 2013 CQUALS – Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus

At CQUALS I expanded my experience of teaching adults who were learning the language for a promotion at work or for education (at university). I have also learned to organize and participate in events. This included organizing a week of formal lessons at the institute in the mornings and learning language through other activities outside the institution in the

afternoon. Therefore, we aimed to teach learners language as well as provide an enjoyable atmosphere. This work experience enabled me to develop and become a more independent, social, responsible individual.

Summer, Christmas and Easter holidays 2010-2012 Approach Consultancy – Nicosia, Northern Cyprus

During my internship at the Approach Consultancy I taught English to university students who were all native speakers of other languages. I learned how to combine the theory I learnt at University with practice. In this sense, I have produced lesson plans, created and adapted activities according to my students and designed lessons which would suit my learners’ age, level, needs and interests. I have taught individual students as well as groups of students.
