De¤erli Okurlar,

Yüksekö¤retim Dergisi’nin bu say›s› ile birlikte ikinci cilde bafl-larken, sevindirici birçok geliflmeyi de sizlerle paylaflman›n gururunu yafl›yoruz.

Bu geliflmelerin bafl›nda yay›n s›k›l›¤›m›zdaki art›fl geliyor. Gördü¤ü akademik ilgiden dolay›, Editör Kurulu olarak dergimizi bundan böyle y›lda 3 say› yay›mlama karar› ald›k. Yüksekö¤retim Dergisi’nin içeri¤i çok disiplinli kat›l›mla hem nitelik hem de nicelik aç›s›ndan zenginlefl-meye devam ediyor. Yaz› kabul koflullar›ndaki güncellemeden de anlafl›-laca¤› gibi dergideki yaz› bölümlerinde düzenleme yaparak efl de¤erlen-dirme (peer review) kapsam›na ald›¤›m›z yaz› çeflitlerini art›rd›k. Dergi-nin bafll›ca içeri¤ini özgün ampirik ve kavramsal araflt›rmalar, literatür derlemeleri ve örnek olay çal›flmalar› oluflturuyor. Bununla birlikte, yük-sekö¤retim alan›ndaki geliflmelere çok de¤erli katk›lar sunaca¤› düflün-cesiyle, bilimsel perspektifte kaleme al›nm›fl görüfl yaz›lar›n›n da dergi-mizde yay›nlanmas› ve tart›fl›lmas›na çok önem veriyoruz. Dergimizin temel amac› olan bilimsel tart›flma platformu yaratma hedefimiz çerçe-vesinde, siz de¤erli yazarlar›m›z›, yüksekö¤retimin her alan›na yönelik bak›fl aç›lar›n›n sunuldu¤u görüfl yaz›lar›n›z› ve yay›nlanm›fl yaz›larla il-gili Editöre mektuplar›n›z› dergimizle paylaflmaya davet ediyoruz.

Bu say› ile birlikte fark edece¤iniz bir di¤er önemli geliflme de, Bi-limsel Dan›flma Kurulumuzun yüksekö¤retim alan›n›n birçok farkl› alt alan›nda, ulusal ve uluslararas› çapta yetkin akademisyenlerin kat›-l›m›yla genifllemesidir.

Öte yandan, Editör Kurulu olarak Yüksekö¤retim Dergisi’nin ge-rek genel akademik ve gege-rekse sosyal bilimler ve e¤itim alanlar›nda önemli birçok bilimsel dizinde taranmas› için yapmakta oldu¤umuz giriflimler de sonuç vermeye bafllad›. Dergimiz flimdiden ulusal çapta ASOS ‹ndeks ve uluslararas› çapta EBSCHOhost, Google Akademik, Index Copernicus gibi veritabanlar›nda dizinleniyor. Dünyadaki bir-çok yüksekö¤retim kurumu ve konu ile ilgili bilim insanlar› taraf›ndan eriflilebilir akademik arflivi sayesinde çevrimiçi (online) izleniyor.

Bunlar›n yan› s›ra, izledi¤imiz yay›n eti¤i stratejisini düzenleyerek dergimizin ç›kar çak›flmas› politikas›n› yürürlü¤e koyduk. Bu konuda-ki ayr›nt›l› bilgiyi derginin çevrimiçi sürümünde bulabilirsiniz.

Son olarak, Editör Kurulu olarak çok duyarl› oldu¤umuz bir bafl-ka konu olan bilimsel içeri¤e evrensel aç›k eriflimin (open access) destek-lenmesi ve gelifltirilmesine katk›da bulunmak amac›yla, dergimizin çevrimiçi sürümündeki akademik içeri¤ini, güncel uluslararas› inisiya-tiflerin çizdi¤i çerçevede bedelsiz kullan›ma sunduk. Bu konulardaki giriflimlerinden dolay› yay›nc›m›za teflekkür ediyoruz.

Ayr›ca bütün bu giriflimlerimizin geçeklefltirilmesinde katk›s› olan meslektafllar›m›za ve kurulufllara teflekkür ediyor, yol gösterici de¤er-li görüfllerinizin devam›n› bekde¤er-liyoruz.

Dear Readers,

With this new issue of Yüksekö¤retim Dergisi / Journal of Higher Education, we are feeling the right pride of sharing many joyful improve-ments with you.

The increase in the publication frequency of our journal is especially in the first place among these improvements. Due to the academic interest in our journal, our Editorial Board has decided to publish the journal triannu-ally from now on. The content of Yüksekö¤retim Dergisi / Journal of Higher Education continues to get rich with a multi-disciplinary participa-tion in terms of both quality and quantity. As it is understood by the updates for submission criteria, we have increased the types of manuscripts for peer reviewing by making arrangements in the sections of the journal. Main con-tent of the journal consists of original empirical and conceptual research studies, literature reviews and case studies. However, we also attach impor-tance to publish and discuss viewpoint manuscripts written from a scientific perspective since it is considered that it will provide esteemed contributions in developments within the field of higher education. Within the context of our goal to create a scientific discussion platform as the main motive of our journal, we invite our esteemed authors to share their opinions about all fields of higher education and their letters to the Editor about published manuscripts.

As you may notice, another development with this issue is the expansion of our Scientific Advisory Board by the participation of various academicians who are nationally and internationally expert on many subfields of higher education.

On the other hand, our attempts as Editorial Board for indexing of Yüksekö¤retim Dergisi / Journal of Higher Education in many scientific indexes on the fields of social sciences and education have started to yield results. Our journal already has been indexed nationally by ASOS Index and internationally by EBSCHOhost, Google Academics, and Index Copernicus. It can be followed electronically by means of its online academic archives which are accessible by many higher educational institutions and related scientists in the world.

In addition, we have revised our strategies for publication ethics and formed the conflict of interest policy of our journal. You can find all of the details on this topic in the online version of the journal.

And finally, in order to support the global open access for scientific con-tent and to contribute its development on which we, as Editorial Board, are very sensitive, we have decided to offer academic content of our journal pub-lished in online version for free within the scope defined by current relevant international initiatives. We would like to thank in particular our publish-er for its efforts in this regard.

We also thank to all colleagues and organizations who contribute to all our efforts and we hope to continue getting your precious guiding opinions.
