INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
Journal of the Faculty of Medicine Cumhuriyet University is the official journal of Cumuriyet University Faculty of Medicine. This peer-reviewed journal aims to publish all aspects of medical field with an emphasis on providing information about new developments and techniques to the readers by publishing original articles, review articles, case reports and letters-to-editor. Topics for review articles should be selected on current trends and experiences of the author(s).
The official language of the Journal is Turkish. The Journal is published quarterly and a volume is completed after four issues published for each year.
All clinical studies conducted on human subjects, such as surgical interventions or drug experiments, must be submitted in conjunction with an approval by the Ethical Committee of the Institution.
The Editorial Board reserves the right to make editorial corrections, to accept the manuscript for publication or to reject it. Also, rejected manuscripts will not be returned to the author(s) (except for original illustrations if requested).
The author(s) must affirm that the submitted manuscript is not published (partially or in total) or is not concurrently under consideration for publication in any other journal. If the manuscript has been accepted for publication, the author(s) must submit a letter signed by each named author, affirming that the copyright of the manuscript is transferred to the Journal of Medical Faculty Cumhuriyet University, that the content of the manuscript is approved by the author(s) without any conflict of interest, that the manuscript is not published or is not under consideration for publication in any other journal, and that the manuscript is prepared according to the instructions of the Journal.
Three sets of the manuscript ( 1 original, 2 copies) as well as a floppy disk containing the manuscript written in a Microsoft Word (IBM format) should be submitted in consideration for publication. The Editorial Board is not responsible for any delay or lost from the post.

Preparation of Manuscripts: Manuscripts should
be printed on a standard A4 paper with at least 3-cm margin on all sides and double space using 12 font (preferably Times New Roman) on one side of the sheet only. An original manuscript should be structured as follow:
General Information Page: General information
page should include the full title of the manuscript, name of
the author(s), and the institution. The name of the corresponding author and his address as well as phone number, fax number and e-mail address should be provided.
Title page: In the title page, only the full title of the
manuscript should be written.
Turkish Title, Summary, and Key Words: In the
Summary, the problem and aim of study, material and methods, the results, and the conclusion should be briefly indicated. The Summary should be limited to 200 words and less than 5 key words should be supplied.
English Title, Summary and Key Words: Turkish
title, summary and key words should be translated in English in this section.
Other Subheadings: Introduction, Material and
Methods, Results, Discussion, References, Tables, Figure Legends, Acknowledgment.
Instructions for References: All references listed
in the References at the end of the manuscript must be cited in the text within parantheses. Refer to the list of journals indexed in Index Medicus for abbrevations of journal names, if not indexed in Index Medicus, provide full name of the journal. Reference citation should be done according to Vancouver system and name only the first three authors and then use et al. if there are more than six authors.

Figure legends should be explanatory and specific, they should be written on a separate page, and the figures should be numbered within the text. Staining technique and original magnification used for microscopic illustrations (such as hematoxylin and eosin, 200x) should be indicated. Photographs should be submitted as glossy black-white prints and should be unmounted, and have a label pasted on the back indicating figure number and orientation without the name or institution of author(s).
Tables and graphics should be typed on a separate page in a tubular form with double spacing and should be numbered and cited consecutively in the text. A brief title for each should be given.
Manuscripts should be limited to 15 pages for original and review articles and 7 pages for case reports. For reprint requests and color reproduction of the illustrations, the author(s) will be expected to make contribution.
