Yüksekö¤retim Dergisinin Sayg›de¤er Okurlar›,
Alan›nda öncü kimli¤iyle alt›nc› cilde bafllayan dergimiz için geçti¤i-miz y›l›n son çeyre¤inde sevindirici bir geliflme oldu. Dergigeçti¤i-miz, 2015 say›-lar› itibariyle, Thomson Reuters’›n geçti¤imiz y›l sonunda lansman›n› yap-t›¤› yeni dizini ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index) taraf›ndan dizin-lenmeye bafllad›. ESCI, Web of Science Core Collection’›n, Science Cita-tion Index Expanded, Social Science CitaCita-tion Index ve Arts and Humani-ties Citation Index adl› dizinlerinin yan› s›ra dördüncü bir kategori olarak hayata geçti. Böylece dergimizde yay›mlanan makalelerin bibliyografik ve içeri¤e iliflkin verileri çok daha genifl bir kitleye ulaflabilme ile birlikte gö-rünürlük ve at›f alma potansiyellerini art›rma flans› bulacak. Biz de Editör ekibi olarak daha da isteklenerek içeri¤imizi zenginlefltirme yolunda çaba-lar›m›z› artt›rd›k. Geçti¤imiz ciltte a¤›rl›kl› olarak ampirik araflt›rmalardan oluflan içeri¤imiz konu bafll›klar› aç›s›ndan e¤itim baflta olmak üzere yöne-tim ve yap›land›rma, finansman, yüksekö¤reyöne-time geçifl ve Bologna süreci ile ilgili yaz›lardan oluflmaktayd›. Bu say› ile bafllad›¤›m›z alt›nc› cildin sa-y›lar›n› oluflturacak içerikte de yaz› çeflitlili¤i art›fl› devam edecektir.
Önümüzdeki dönemlerde planlamas›n› yapt›¤›m›z bir di¤er yenilik de belirli konular çerçevesinde haz›rlanm›fl özel say›lar› yay›mlamakt›r. Bu sayede, yüksekö¤retim alan›ndaki temel konu bafll›klar›n› gerek ülke-miz boyutunda ve gerekse uluslararas› çapta güncel geliflmeler ›fl›¤›nda bir arada sunarak tart›flma zemini yaratmay› amaçl›yoruz. Öte yandan bun-dan sonraki say›larda uluslararas› yaz›lar› da art›rmay› hedefliyoruz.
Bugüne kadar oldu¤u gibi dergimizin okuru ve yazar› olarak göster-di¤iniz ilgiye ve içeri¤imizin kalite düzeyine de¤erlendirmeci olarak yap-t›¤›n›z de¤erli katk›lara teflekkür ediyor, yeni say›lar›m›zda tekrar bulufl-may› ümit ediyoruz.

Dear Readers of the Journal of Higher Education,
In the last quarter of the previous year, we have received good news for our journal beginning its sixth volume as a leading journal in its field. As of its 2015 issues, our journal has been included to ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index), the new index launched by Thomson Reuters a few months ago. ESCI has become the fourth category of Web of Science Core Collection besides Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index. In this way, the bibliographic data and content of articles published in our journal will have the chance to reach a wider audience as well as the increased visibil-ity and citing potential. As the Editorial team, we also have increased our efforts for enriching our content more eagerly. In the previous volume, our content mainly consisting of empirical researches included articles on edu-cation particularly and management and reconstruction of higher educa-tion, financing, transition to higher education and Bologna process. We are planning to increase the variety of articles with the issues of the sixth volume.
It is in our agenda for the following periods to publish special issues on particular topics too. In this way, we aim to create a discussion platform by offering main subjects in the higher education together with current events both from Turkey and international arena. On the other hand, we also have a goal to increase the number of international articles in our next issues.
With the hope of meeting with you in the first issue of the next volume, we would like to thank you for your interest in our journal as a reader and author and your significant contributions to the quality level of our contents as a reviewer.
