Abstract
Saimbeyli is located in among Middle Taurus mountains in north east of Adana with an altitude of 1050 m and also have both Mediterranean and continental climate. This region has high population of butterflies where 160 of 400 its species were observed. Two plants (Euphorbia paralias L. and Primula vulgaris Huds. subsp. vulgaris), attracted and landed on by these butterflies, were chosen to determine some of the soil ecological parameters to observe and give a new insight about soil, plant and butterfly interaction in their ecosystem. Thus, obtained results of this study were archived as original data in this still undisturbed ecosystem. Soils of E. paralias were silt loam while P. vulgaris soils were sandy loam and both soils were slightly alkaline. Organic carbon (OC, %) and total nitrogen (TN, %) of soils and leaves of both plants and ammonium (NH4-N) and nitrate (NO3-N) contents of soils were determined. OC and TN of soils were found 3.63 and 0.40 % for Euphorbia, 3.01 and 0.34 % for Primula while in same parameters of leaves were found 35.78 and 1.88 % for Euphorbia and 27.18 and 2.39 % for Primula, respectively. Amounts of ammonium and nitrate in soils were determined as 25.84 and 3.32 ppm for Euphorbia while they were 19.20 and 5.56 ppm for Primula.
This study has aimed to evaluate the ecosystem as a whole while improvement of this study by additions of many plants will help to understand and protect the ecology of this region better than ever.

In our study we determine some of the ecological parameters of two plants chosen by butterflies which are the same elements of soil, plant and butterfly ecosystem. Thus the collected results are an important data sources for the undisturbed ecosystem.Soil textures are sandy loam for E.paralias and P. vulgaris. Both soil have a slightly basic pH.Organic carbon(%C), total nitrogen (%N) values from soil and leaves and apart from that nitrate and amonium contents are detected from soil. The results of %C and %N of euphorbia soils and leaves are 3,63;35,78;0,40;1,88 respectively Whereas for Primula these values are 3,01;27,18;0,34;2,39 respectively. The average NH4 and NO3 results for Euphorbia soils are25,84 and 3,32 ppm.The results for Primula is 19,20 and 5,56 ppm.
This study assesed the ecosystem as a whole and can be improved by many other plants from the region for furher understanding and protection of the region.
